Background of the issue:

Symptoms:

Questions:
We’re experiencing an issue with the status codes of reviews that have been translated using String Translator.

Specifically, we know that when a review is untranslated, its status in the database is marked as 0. Once it’s translated, it changes to 10. The problem is that a large number of reviews on our site have reverted to a status of 0, even though the translations are still there.

We’d like to understand whether there’s a known bug, or if WPML has any mechanism that might be rechecking and modifying those status codes, even after its job on that specific review is complete.

The result, of course, is that we end up with a huge number of already translated reviews showing up again in String Translator under “Strings yet to be translated”.

We’d also like to add that WPML is up to date and the automatic string detection option is disabled.

Thanks!

Hi,

Reference to our recent chat, I need to take a closer look at your site. So I request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP), preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your next answer will be private, to share this information safely.

Also provide detailed steps to reproduce the issue and links to pages in the admin and on the frontend.

IMPORTANT: Please take a complete backup of the site to avoid data loss. I may need to activate/deactivate plugins also.

See https://wpml.org/purchase/support-policy/privacy-and-security-when-providing-debug-information-for-support/ for details on privacy and security.

P.S.: If you don't see the section for providing access information, do not write in the message box or the information may appear as public.

Regards.

Good morning, we can’t grant access to our live site due to privacy and security reasons. However, let us know what kind of screenshots you need and we’ll be more than happy to provide them.

Thank you for the updates.

I understand that it is not possible to provide access for the live site. However, in order to observe the issue, we'll need access to the site and the data (including database).

For this matter, I'll recommend preparing a staging/test site by replicating your live site. You can remove any sensitive data which isn't necessary for observation otherwise.

The screenshots 'll only help us observe the WPML settings and configs, which we can observe from the debug info (mostly). A screen recording 'll also be beneficial, just in case if you can show us how to replicate the problem.

I've enabled your next reply as private again, in case you want to provide any of the above mentioned confidentially.
