This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
You are unable to change the status of a translation from 'In progress' to 'finished', and you cannot post it even after completing the translation.
Solution:
We recommend updating to the latest version of the Advanced Translation Editor and then following these steps:
1. Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
2. Open the edit screen of the original page. Look for a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
3. Make a small change, such as adding an extra blank space at the end of a sentence or paragraph.
4. Save the changes.
5. A circular arrow should appear beside the links for the second language, indicating that an update is required.
6. Edit the translation again and ensure it is saved up to 100% translated.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am trying to change the status of a translation from 'In progress' to 'finished'.

Symptoms:
The status of the translation does not change even after I finished the job, and I cannot post it.

Questions:
Why does the translation status not change after finishing the job?
How can I post the translation after completing it?

Hi,

I checked our issue tracker and we consider the issue as a bug and it is added to the development process.

This might take time to have a resolution. So for now I suggets that you consider using the manual translation till a fix is released.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hi,

It appears that there was a misunderstanding about what I meant by 'manual translation'.

I created the video below showing what I meant:

Thank you.

Hi,

A new version of the Advanced Translation Editor has been released. Yu should be able to finish the translation following the steps below:

- Go to your Dashboard > Pages.
- Open the edit screen of the original page. You should see a pencil/circle/gear icon in the sidebar options under the "Languages" section.
- Make a small change, for example, add an extra blank space at the end of a sentence/paragraph.
- Save it.
- You should now see that a circular arrow appears beside the 2nd languages links, this means that an update is required.
- Edit the translation again and save it up to 100% translated.

Thanks.
