Background of the issue:
I am trying to sync fields using ACF Pro in my custom post type (CPT). I set a field to 'copy', but now I cannot edit the field in either language. The issue seems to have started when I switched the default language, which caused all English posts to move into the German section. I had to manually change the language of the posts and then create translations.
Symptoms:
When I set a field to 'copy', I cannot edit the field in both languages as there is a lock and the field is disabled. WPML seems to not recognize which post is the leading one.
Questions:
Do you have a fix for the issue where fields are locked and disabled after setting them to 'copy'?
How can I resolve the issue of WPML not recognizing the leading post after changing the default language?
You should be able to edit the fields in your post default language, not WPML default language, so it depends on which language you created it.
Please try next steps:
1) Go to Plugins > Add New > Commercial > Click “Check for updates" and update WPML plugins to latest versions.
Please make sure to create a backup, before doing any actions, just in case.
2)
- Disable all other plugins and leave active only WPML plugins and ACF
- Switch to WP default theme
- Check if the issue still happens
- Try to create new post and check if issue still happens
hi drazen, thanks for getting back.
i already made all the updates, i confirmed that when submitting the request. and like i said, i cannot change anything, once i set it to `copy`. the lock is in both languages, even in the one, where i created the post in..
but i now tried to recreate the issue, enabled copy again and it seems to be working like it should. probably something that came with the last update..? anyways. resolved!
