Hi there

It seems like most internal links point to the English version (even when the article was written in German and then translated into English).

E.g. hidden link

I already did this twice: There is new translated content on this site. You can scan posts and strings to adjust links to point to translated content.

I'd appreciate it if you could have a look at it.

Thank you

Tim

Hi,

Thank you for contacting WPML Support, I will be happy to help you.

- Could you please clear the cache of your website (including server-side cache) and check if the issue persists?
- After checking/clearing the cache could you please go to WPML -> Settings -> Translate Link Targets, click the button "Scan now and adjust links" and after the scan is finished, check if the issue persists?

* I noticed that you are using WPML Sticky Links, is there any configuration related that might be causing the issue?

Looking forward to your reply,
Marsel

Hi Marsel

Thank you for your reply!

I followed the steps you mentioned, and it didn't help!

If it helps, I can send you credentials so that you can have a look at the website.

Thank you

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the update.

You can send the credentials to access your site's WP-admin.

Please make a full backup of your site (files and database) and confirm it in your next reply.
* Note: I might need to enable/disable plugins.

Your next reply is set to private for you to provide the username and password details.

Thanks,
Marsel

Hi Tim,

Thank you for providing the access, I was able to check, and would it be possible to check if the issue happens in a minimal setup, that meaning:

- set a default WP theme
- keep active only WPML Plugins
- disable all other plugins

After, check if the issue is still happening.

Note: Please make sure you have a full backup (files & database) before trying anything on your website.

Let me know if that works for you,
Marsel

Hi Marsel

Thank you!

I use the same theme, plugins, etc., on six websites, and WPML works just fine on all the others.

I just deactivated the sticky links plugin and tried again.

Here's what I just found out:

- All articles were written in German and then translated to all other languages using the WPML automatic translation.
- Internal Links were added manually in the German articles (pointing to the original German version of the articles)
- Internal links are correct in all translations!!!!
- The only problem: The manually added German links, for some reason, are now pointing to the English translations!!

Hope that helps to find the problem

Thank you

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thank you for the update.

Could you please do a small test?
- edit the post again,
- make a small change to the post content and translate again

After, check if the issue persists, normally the link should be translated as well.

* It would be good to have a staging site on the same server to troubleshoot further if the issue persists.

Let me know,
Marsel
