Background of the issue:
I am trying to manage user permissions in WordPress for the site hidden link. User Siri Landgren only has 'Translate' authorization, while another user, Sofia Sahlin, has all permissions. Both users are admins in WordPress. It seems that new users don’t get all the permissions.
Symptoms:
User Siri Landgren has limited permissions ('Translate') and faces issues when trying to preview site drafts. User Sofia Sahlin, who has all permissions, does not face this problem.
Questions:
Why does user Siri Landgren only have 'Translate' authorization while Sofia Sahlin has all permissions?
How can I ensure that new users get all the necessary permissions in WPML?
Are you using any plugin or custom code to create users and/or roles?
However, I'll recommend checking by the following steps:
IMPORTANT: Please take full backup of your website and database beforehand.
It is highly advised to try this on a staging/dev site first, so your live website isn't compromised.
1) Clear all caches.
2) Deactivate all plugins except WPML and String Translation.
3) Switch to a standard theme like 2024.
4) Check for the issue if it still happens.
Please let me know and I'll try my best to help you further on the matter.
Regards.
