Background of the issue:
I am trying to resolve slow SQL queries and page load speeds on my website. We previously submitted this problem, but I can't find the ticket. Your team mentioned it was an Avada issue, but Avada has confirmed the issue persists without their theme. A basic page with simple text and images takes more than 30 seconds to load. Please refer to the latest video here: hidden link. The issues are still prevalent with the content on the default theme. I have moved the demo page to draft mode. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link.

Symptoms:
Slow page load speeds, taking more than 30 seconds for a basic page with text and images to load. The issue persists without the Avada theme.

Questions:
Why are the page load speeds still slow without the Avada theme?
What can be done to improve the load speeds?

Hello,

Our apologies for the delay in answering this issue.

In case you still need assistance, I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to the website to investigate the issue further.

You can find the required fields below the comments section when you log in to leave the next reply. The information you provide is private, meaning only you and I can see and access it.

IMPORTANT
Please be sure to back up your website and database before granting us access.
If you can't see the "wp-admin / FTP" fields, your post and website credentials will be set to "PUBLIC." DO NOT publish the data unless you see the required wp-admin / FTP fields.

I may need to install a plugin called "All In One WP Migration" to create a copy of the website so I can investigate the issue further.

However, I would also be very grateful if you could provide a staging site or a copy of the website from your server for this purpose.

If you have any questions about creating such a staging site, you can consult your hosting provider. Please note that WPML must also be registered on this staging site at https://wpml.org/account/websites/.

If you are unable to provide such a copy of the website for testing, please let me know on this ticket.

The private reply form looks like this:

Click "I still need assistance" the next time you reply.

Please note that we are required to request this information individually on each ticket. We are not permitted to access any credentials that were not specifically submitted on this ticket in the private response form.

Best regards
Andreas

I do not have any issue with creating a copy for testing, but could you please provide more exact details about where the issue occurs, as I can sadly not view your video?

The only slow query indicated by Query MOnitor currently is coming from Yoast and takes only 0,08 seconds to load.

I activated Query Monitor, and opened some pages on the WordPress Editor and they opened all within 3-8 seconds.

I opened the same pages on Frontend and used the language switcher and the pages load in 1.2 seconds.

Now, I see there are more than 9000 pages.

Could you please name me an example?

Hi

I sure can. Please try a search on the website such as : hidden link

We have a tool on WPEngine which is flagging these up. See attached.

Upload No. 2 (...08.51.47) is another one that isn't a search...

Also, we are getting an error when we try to set a post as nofollow with Yoast. It flags errors on your plugin...

Attached are both what we are doing and what is happening

I really need a response, the Google search results are littered with content we don't want indexing. We really need your assistance and have waited patiently. Please get back in touch ASAP.

What plugins work with WPML as I have tried so many as previously mentioned which have either broken the website or caused the site to become slower

My apologies for the delay in getting back to you during the national holidays. Take kindly note that I work from Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Regarding performance and the mentioned search query:

The screenshots you shared are from the 16th of April. Did you recently get new reports like this on WP Engine?

This query loads currently in 0.8 seconds. I do not see an issue here. See screenshot:
hidden link

If I search example for the term "grip" I can see it takes 3.6 seconds for the page to load, but in this case, we would need to test how this search behaves while WPML is disabled to determine if WPML impacts the load time.

Example search:
hidden link

Do you maybe have a staging site available on the same server where we could test the load time while deactivating WPML?

If you do not have such a staging site available, please let me know.

---

Further, please take kindly note, that we can handle only one issue per ticket. I would kindly like to offer to split the request about the error that relates to Yoast SEO into a new ticket and follow up with you from there.

Unfortunately we don't have a staging site. However, please read through the full ticket as I'm quite sure it explains why it's a WPML issue. Also, please look at reply #16942575 as this is much more important at the moment - urgent really.

I am happy for you to pause feedback on the original issue and to focus on the reply: #16942575

We really need assistance with regards to the indexing issue, we have a lot of our content showing in search results that shouldn't be. Please take this seriously as this is affecting our company and customers.

Take kindly note that I created a new ticket regarding the errors with Yoast SEO yesterday:
https://wpml.org/forums/topic/split-fatal-error-between-yoast-seo-and-wpml/

You should have received an e-mail notification about my reply on this ticket.

Regarding the performance issues:

I can offer to try to local copy of your site and test how the search queries behave with and without WPML. Would you like me to proceed on this matter?
