Background of the issue:
I am trying to use a filter with the plugin 'Filter Everything' on my site hidden link. The filter works for both the English and German versions of the website, except for the product attribute 'Brand'. I have updated all plugins and attempted to set translations manually, but that did not work, so I deleted the manual translations.

Symptoms:
The translation of the product attribute 'Brand' does not translate to German, affecting the filter functionality.

Questions:
Why is the 'Brand' attribute not translating to German?
How can I fix the translation issue for the 'Brand' attribute?

I should add that all this happens on my staging site called: hidden link

Meanwhile I have translated the attribute Brand again with WordPress Multilingual, like here: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/woocommerce-multilingual/#taxonomies

Now there are at least Brands visible in German but they dont have any products attached. I also tried having the same slug for EN and DE but that also did not solve the issue. Now each slug is again EN = "brand" DE = "brand_de".

Hi,

Please note that this plugin has known issues: Filter Everything Pro Compatibility, and its compatibility has not been tested by our team.

When I open a brand page, such as hidden link, and attempt to switch the language, the page redirects incorrectly, indicating that the translation is not properly linked. To investigate further, I would like to request temporary access to your staging site (both wp-admin and FTP).

You will find the required fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. Please note that the information entered here is private, meaning only you and I can access it.

I may also need to replicate your site locally. For this, I would temporarily install a plugin such as Duplicator or All-in-One WP Migration to create a copy of your site and its content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local copy. Please let me know if this is acceptable.

IMPORTANT:
Please make a full backup of your site (both files and database) before providing access.
If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, it means your login details will be made public. DO NOT share your credentials unless you see the required private fields. If they are not visible, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi,

Thank you for providing access. I reviewed the filter configuration, but it’s currently set to "Filter by" -> "Post Author", which remains the same across both languages.

I also attempted to access hidden link, but it now returns a 404 error. Could you please clarify how I can reproduce the issue using a brand?

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi Marcel,

I came across your message by chance, as I didn’t receive an email notification—apologies for the delayed response.

Since I haven’t yet found a solution to the issue, I’ll reconstruct it and provide a detailed reply in my next message. Please give me some time to do this properly - 24h.

Thank you for your support and patience.

Best regards,
Markus
