when i activate the WPML Multilingual CMS its down the site

I have used both plugins together on another site without any issues. Symptoms: When I activate the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin, the site goes down due to a conflict with Elementor Pro. Questions: Why does activating the WPML Multilingual CMS plugin cause a conflict with Elementor Pro on this site? How can I resolve the conflict between WPML Multilingual CMS and Elementor Pro?
