[Closed] Other websites in portal

Thank you for contacting WPML Support.

I understand your concern. Based on the information available in our system, there are currently 88 websites registered under your WPML account. Apart from the two websites you mentioned, the other sites appear to have been registered between 2024 and 2026.

If you are not familiar with these websites, could you please confirm whether anyone else has access to or has managed your WPML account, or if the account was recently transferred to you?

If you are the sole owner of the account and do not recognize these sites, I recommend that you remove the unknown websites from your account and update your account password immediately as a precaution.

In the meantime, I will also ask our systems team to review the account activity to see if they can identify how these sites were registered. As soon as I receive any updates, I will inform you right away.

Please let me know if you have any additional information that might help clarify the situation. I’ll be happy to assist further.

Hi Prosenjit,

In the meantime we deleted all the websites except the 2 sites which belongs to us.
I also changed my password (which already was a strong one)

Don't understand why this happened. Were you able to do your research in the meantime?

Hi Jan-Hein,

I hope you’re doing well, and I’m sorry for the delayed reply over the weekend.

I discussed this with our Systems team, and they confirmed the same findings regarding the site registrations.

Based on their investigation, it appears possible that your WPML.org account password may have been compromised. One of the main reasons for this concern is that the IP address locations used for some of the site registrations did not match the expected location associated with your account activity.

Because of that, the recommendation is:

- Remove any sites you do not recognize from your WPML.org account
- Change your WPML.org account password immediately
- As a general precaution, please do not share your account access with anyone unless you fully trust them

If you have already removed the unknown sites and changed the password, that is excellent and exactly the right step to take.
