This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
You are trying to enable the WP Editor role (WPML Translator) to translate posts on your site, but they are not authorized to do so despite having the appropriate permissions.
Solution:
We recommend deactivating the "White Label CMS" plugin on your site. This plugin may be interfering with the permissions of the WP Editor role, preventing them from accessing the translation editor. After deactivating the plugin, please check if the WP Editor account can now open and use the translation editor as expected.
Please note that this solution might be outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the issue persists, please open a new support ticket at our support forum.

I have now updated all of the plugins as requested. I still get the following error for the WP Editor with Translator authorization when attempting to access a FR translation (for example): hidden link |

Hi, Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today. Could you please check if the issue persists in a minimal environment by following these steps? 1- Deactivate all the plugins except WPML CMS. If the issue is gone, activate them one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue. ❌ Please backup your database before the above test ❌ Best regards, |

Hello Osama, Thank you for your response. 1. Keep in mind that WPML behaved properly before last Thursday. I had a WP Editor with the requisite authorization (as a Translator in WPML). It suddenly stopped working. Can't you do anything else? I can give you access to the website as an 1) Admin and a 2) Editor role. Please let me know. |

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it. ❌ Please backup your database and website ❌ ✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical. ✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site. Best regards, |

I forgot to grant you permission for the following: ✙ I need your permission to deactivate and reactivate the plugins and themes and change site configurations. This is also why the backup is critical. ✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site. Please go ahead but I would prefer a local copy approach so as not to potentially compromise the live site. Thank you, |

Hi, Thanks for the access details. Would you please make sure that the provided account has Admin capabilities? I need the Admin's capabilities to install the Duplicator plugin and create a local copy of your site to debug the issue. Best regards, |

Hi, Please log in using the wpml account. You won't see the plugins, theme, settings, and WPML-> Settings in the dashboard. Best regards, |

Please try again. I mistakenly did not give user "wpml" Admin Menu privileges in White Label CMS. Should be good now. |

Hi, Thanks for the access details. I installed a local copy and found that when deactivating the "White Label CMS" plugin, the editor account can open the translation editor correctly. Please deactivate it on your site and check if the editor account works as expected. Best regards, |

Thank you, Osama. I will deactivate White Label CMS and report back. Do you have any suggestions for menu editors who can restrict the menus of WP users who aren't admins that work well with WPML? I'm planning on using User Role Editor and then something like Adminimize. Please let me know. |

Hi, You can use Google to search for a specific plugin compatibility with WPML. If the plugin is compatible, you will see a search result like this. (https://wpml.org/plugin/wp-user-manager/) Best regards, |
