Background of the issue:
I have been struggling with WPML errors for 2-3 months. I am trying to use WPML to translate my site from Danish to Spanish. I started automatic translation, but the old WPML error reappeared. I need WPML to work without hindering my shop's progress with a new language. Link to a page where the issue can be seen: hidden link.

Symptoms:
WPML is causing errors that prevent me from translating my site. The automatic translation feature is not working as expected, and I am experiencing recurring errors.

Questions:
... have a good life and for some of it use WPML to translate.

See recent supports by Kor.

I have been in a WPML nightmare and errors should have been corrected, and I finally would get started with translating into spanish from danish.

Started automatic translation, and then DAMED THE OLD WPML ERROR IS THERE AGAIN, SE CLIPS HERE.

I now need:
1. WPML to work and not hinder mit shop from go further wit a new language.

2. This has to go QUICK, as I have wasted SO MUCH time and has to be able to work without all those errors from WPML.

3. Do not charge point for auto translate as this is useless for me until WPML works. It looks if there will be a payment 1/9, and this will be money wasted right now. So stop this charge!

4. Give me a VERY good compensation for high blood preasure because of using WPML + many hours wasted writing with support, testing, waiting + 2 months delay in devoliping our site further caused by WPML. I already had a request for that to Kor and he would adress it, but I never got the answer for that. Now the wich for that is far greater, as I thought I could go on with or spanish plans to day. ARRGGGH!!!

Will be happy agian hwhen this is REALLY fixed and iI am compensated for this!

Regards Michael

Addition:

At the end of making the ticket I was shown WPML versions and that there were newer versions than I have. But how can that be, as I have no info on new versions in the Plugins page. Se picture.

This was just an extra info, all the problems are still VERY live and important!

Hello,

I am not quite sure what the actual issue is, but I would like to try to assist you. Maybe you can explain again in a few words what it is that you are trying to do or expecting to see?

What is the error message that you are receiving?

---

Please take a backup of your site, including the database, and then go to Plugins > Add new and click on the "Commercial" tab.

Now, click "Check for WPML Updates" and install the latest versions of our plugins.

After completing the updates, please revise if the issue persists. You might need to edit the original content, save the page or post again, and then update the translation.

Also, I would suggest you first go to WPML > Translation, filter for jobs that still need a review, mark all the jobs, and then use the dropdown to approve reviews in bulk, in case you do not wish to go through each review in detail.

About the open payment:
You are using Pay-As-You-Go, which means you use credits for automatic translation and then pay them the next month. There is an open amount for 300154 credits, and these will need to be charged. If you want to avoid further charges, please cancel your subscription for Pay-As-You-Go at WPML > Translation Management > Translation Tools.

Also, note that all the credits that were used created entries inside the translation memory of the Advanced Translation Editor. This means, if for some reason, translations have not been completed or published, the translations will still be available and will be auto-completed without any cost if you send the content again for translation. The translation memory will only be overwritten in each segment if you edit the relative original content.

If this does not solve the issue, please let us know.

Best regards
Andreas

Thank you for your detailed feedback. I understand your frustration and I’m truly sorry for the difficulties you’ve experienced. The stable releases of WPML are always delivered through the WordPress Plugins page, while the BETA versions you noticed on our Downloads page are optional pre-release builds made available for those who want early access to fixes or features. These BETA versions are not intended for production use unless specifically recommended by our support team. Since you’ve installed a BETA build, I kindly ask that you replace it with the current stable version 4.8.

Regarding compensation, I sincerely apologize that your previous request was not followed up on as expected. I’ve escalated this matter to my manager, but unfortunately we are not able to compensate for time lost, as the issue is not related to missing translation credits. I do fully recognize that your time is valuable, and our goal is for WPML to save you time, not cause you additional work.

I also tried accessing your website using the credentials you provided, but I received this error: “Fejl: Den adgangskode, som du indtastede for brugernavnet ExternalSupport, er forkert.” Could you please double-check the password or provide updated credentials so that I can continue testing in the areas you highlighted? Also, if possible, please record a short screen recording of the issue you encounter for our reference purposes. You can use this free tool hidden link .

Hi Kor,

Ok, I’ve reset the password for this, it should work:
TOMjKbYiG9n&sO(N

The reason I searched for, found, and installed the BETA version is only because WPML’s support page stated that I should update to that version when I created this ticket. It happens on one of the last steps in the process.

Please switch back to the latest STABLE version once you’re logged in. That’s probably also a good idea, because the cogwheel in the top bar has been spinning nonstop for two days, and the function is likely broken, since the WPML icon at the top says:

Translate Everything Automatically 0 / 1
0%, less than 1 min remaining

So, 0% for 2 days and the cogwheel keeps spinning. It’s probably best to switch back to STABLE again, but please note that your support page instructs customers to use the newest version with the number that the BETA has, during the ticket creation flow.

Yes, I have many difficulties with WPML. Right now it’s not very popular here, but let’s make it better.

I don’t think that’s fair. I have wasted so much time on WPML and our shop is not using WPML because it doesn’t work, but we are paying for it!

That was one type of compensation. Another type concerns credits, because credits may have been used incorrectly or wasted since WPML doesn’t work — meaning that automatic translation runs endlessly and consumes my money without giving me any result. Do you understand that part?

If you don’t get WPML running properly very soon, I will request a refund for the money we paid for WPML and for credits and uninstall WPML and use an other program. And please do not reply with anything legal about the refund period being expired, because then I will explode. Nothing personal, but we have had no benefit from WPML so far — we haven’t used it, we can’t use it, we don’t have any site running with WPML translations. On the contrary, WPML has seriously delayed our launch in the Spanish market. Therefore, either compensation or a refund of the product if we cannot start benefiting from WPML soon. I hope you get it to work now and I becom happy for WPML, let's hope and let's see!

Please do pass this part regarding the two differt compensations on to a manager.

Looking forward to have WPML working after message no 25. Thanks!

Regards
Michael

Hi Kor.

A little info: I have deactivated WPML just now, as the cogwheel in the WPML icon in the top of the screen have been working nonstop now for three days.

Hover over and it says:

Translate Everything Automatically 0 / 1
0%, less than 1 min remaining

Same % in 3 days. Does not end.

Perhaps it is because this is BETA, and if, then it will go away wheny you change back to normal version.

I deactivated, as our site is running so slow due to this. You can just activate all WPML when you have the standard version on.

Looking very much forward to being able to work and use WPML and start in Spain. As you can read above, we have had no (0) benefit of WPML till now, we are only paying, can not use it and are in addition wasting so much good time.

New info:

I could not wait, items with spanish language got mixed with the primary danish texed items, so I had to activate WPML again. Installed the latest STABLE and activated, so we are back on stable.

All errors and problem are the same, also the one with the cogwheel grinding and no progress:
Translate Everything Automatically 0 / 1
0%, less than 1 min remaining

It is yours from here.

Looking forward to hearing many positive things.

Regards Michael

Thanks for your reply. I've checked your Website and I can see the "Translate Everything Automatically" is not working correctly and some errors are showing up here hidden link

Since you’re already on the latest STABLE release and the issue persists, I recommend we collect some additional debug logs via FTP so our 2nd Tier Support can identify what is blocking the automatic translation from completing. This should help us resolve the core issue so that WPML works as expected on your site and you can finally launch your Spanish version. Could you backup and share FTP access here so that I could enable the debugging mode for you as explained here? https://wpml.org/documentation/support/debugging-wpml/

Also, you mentioned that some credits may have been used incorrectly or wasted because WPML isn’t working. This is something we need to verify, and if credits were consumed without any translations being delivered, we will of course refund those credits. Could you please share the specific page or post where you experienced this issue, so we can check the translation process and confirm whether credits were used without results?

Hi Kor.

Ok, fine, FTP:

There was a WPML update this morning and it is installed. See the picture.

host = linux321.unoeuro.com
user = strendin.dk
pw = GHRpDb94Eyw25xhfmdFA
ftp shortcut = hidden link

Regarding compensation, thank you for acknowledging that I want it and for taking action. I state that I want it because I am paying for a product I cannot use – namely the subscription – and I mention compensation for paid credits because I do not know whether the translations I use credits for are valid, and I might have to run them again once you have fixed the error – if you can – and in that case I don’t want to pay twice for the use of credits.

It is truly a problem for the progress of our company that WPML is so unstable and poorly functioning, and at the same time we are paying for WPML without being able to benefit from it. For this reason, I strongly request to be compensated. Could you please assist me with this?

.... and after I wrote this, there was an other WPML update.

Pleas check is the error still is there now with 2 updates in. They could have corrected the error?

Else you have the FTP access.

Thank you for your patience. I’ve stopped the Translate Everything Automatically option and restarted it, and it now works when I send a page for translation. It no longer gets stuck, so could you please try on your end as well? Regarding compensation, I’ll forward your feedback again to my manager for review once everything is confirmed to be working fine.

Hi Kor.

Super, and I tried and finaly WPML is working at our site. This is good!

What was the problem, error, that caused it?

We then have the compensation left, so dont close the case before we have an agreement on this.

There is a lot of my time, many, many hours wasted because I had to be involved in reparing WPML. My time is valuable as all peoples time is.

We have not been able to use WPML before now - but have paied for WPML in many monts with no use of it. This is an easy to understand reason for having money back or having 1-2 years for free.

That is 2 things I need something for.

Please forward this to you manager and let me know.

Looking forward to a fair answer from you.

Regards
Michael, trendin.dk

Great to hear WPML is now working on your site.

Regarding compensation, I’m afraid we cannot offer refunds or free extensions when the issue is not related to translation credits. We do allow compensation only if translation credits were consumed without a completed translation. If you believe credits were used in error, please share the affected page URLs and the approximate dates so we can review the credit logs. If we confirm any incorrect credit usage, we will refund those credits.

Outside of translation credit issues, we are not able to provide refunds for elapsed subscription time or extend licenses for free. What I can do is help you verify your setup and share best practices to avoid similar disruptions going forward.

If there is anything else WPML-specific you’d like us to check, let me know. Otherwise, I will keep this ticket open for your follow-up about translation credits.
