This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was unable to see the automatic translation tab under 'translation management' in the WPML settings on their WordPress site. Solution: We recommended that the client ensure they have selected the 'Advanced Translation Editor' instead of the Classic Translation Editor under WPML > Settings. This change is often necessary to display the 'Tools' tab within WPML > TM.
If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems outdated, or if it does not apply to your specific case, we highly recommend checking the related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, please open a new support ticket.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I would like to use the automatic translation option for my website under construction (hidden link). I watched the video where you explain how to do this: https://wpml.org/account/buy-credits-for-automatic-translation/ but I don't have this tab in my WordPress backend.
Symptoms:
The automatic translation tab is not visible under 'translation management'.
Questions:
Why is the automatic translation tab not visible under 'translation management'?
How can I enable the automatic translation option in WPML?
Please first make sure that under WPML > Settings > at the top, you select the "Advanced Translation Editor" instead of the Classic Translation Editor.
Usually that's the reason why the "Tools" tab is missing from inside WPML > TM.
I hope that you will find this information helpful.
Thanks for info. I checked it on another website with WPML active and I found it.
Now on my concerned website under construction (hidden link) I'm getting more issues with WPML. I can't reach website backend anymore, seems like WPML is causing it. Below the WordPress mail I received ([Bell Tours] Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue):
Howdy!
WordPress has a built-in feature that detects when a plugin or theme causes a fatal error on your site, and notifies you with this automated email.
In this case, WordPress caught an error with one of your plugins, WPML Multilingual CMS.
First, visit your website (hidden link) and check for any visible issues. Next, visit the page where the error was caught (hidden link) and check for any visible issues.
Please contact your host for assistance with investigating this issue further.
If your site appears broken and you can't access your dashboard normally, WordPress now has a special "recovery mode". This lets you safely login to your dashboard and investigate further.

WXell, the issue isn't solved completely in fact, as the tab "automatic translation" is still not showing, but below on page I now see the option "translate automatically", so it's ok. Check screenshots in attachment.
