Background of the issue:
I am trying to manage translations with an agency using WordBee BeeBox. Every month, I send jobs for translation, and they send them back to me, including new content for translation or updates. Here is a specific example of a case study that looks fine. but always says that it needs updates: hidden link

Symptoms:
Some translation jobs get 'cancelled' and need to be resent multiple times before they apply. Additionally, certain content always shows 'needs updating' even after being sent back and appearing fine on the live site.

Questions:
Why do some translation jobs get 'cancelled' and need to be resent multiple times?
Why does content always show 'needs updating' even after being updated and appearing fine on the live site?

Hi,

thanks for contacting us and sorry for the late reply.

Could you please provide your site's credentials so I can transmit it to the Proxy team?

Hello,

This is Ahmed Mamdouh from the translation proxy team and I'll help you with this ticket.

I checked your project and I made a deep investigation and I found that there are some jobs cancelled as you mentioned, but I don't have any errors shown in our logs, so I need your permission to retry sending the cancelled jobs again to replicate and trace the issue.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.

Hello,

I tried to replicate the issue with one of the canceled jobs, "The-True-Cost-of-Frying-Oil-Waste-And-How-to-Stop-It" and the job passed successfully without any errors.

I deeply investigated the translation process and found some old errors that may relate to this. The errors mainly come from the Wordbee Beebox API, and the error message is

"type":"Api error","id":"LOGGEDOUT","message":"Not authorised. You do not have an active session and need to log in first.","failed":true"

But right now, the jobs went through successfully, so please try again and let me know if you get the same issue again.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.

Thank you Ahmed. Yes, the one job you picked is one that we actually manually cancelled. The other part of my ticket has to do with recurring issues when passing content to my translator from WPML.

Every month, it says that all of our case studies need to be updated, when we have not made any changes to them. This actually happens to a lot of content each month. For some reason, it says that it needs updates, and when I send them through, there are no real updates to apply. They just perpetually say "needs updates".

For content that actually does need to be translated, sometimes I have to send it over 4 or 5 times before my translators actually receive it. What could be the issue with these items?

Hello,

I apologize for the frustration this issue has caused you. I understand how inconvenient this must be.

Based on the details so far, it’s possible that the problem is related to the error I mentioned earlier. Still, when I tried to resend one of the posts for translation to replicate the issue, it passed successfully.

To investigate further and replicate the issue on my end, please try to send some case studies to translation and if it blocks or triggers the issue, just inform me and I'll trace and investigate the issue. This will help us identify the root cause and work toward a resolution more efficiently.

Regarding the "needs update" issue, I tried to check one of the posts edit revision log to trace why this could happen but I couldn't, it seems that I don't have permission to check it or you didn't add it to this post type configuration, but anyway, sending the posts again will allow us to track all the issue.

So, please try to prepare and send a new batch, and let me know how it goes.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Best regards,

Hello,

I clicked the "check status and get translations" button, and the jobs were retrieved successfully without any errors.

I think I can confirm that the translation process is working properly right now, so please continue translating the website and let me know when you have any issues.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.

Hello, I went to send my monthly translation batch and once again, every case study says it needs updates..not sure why. Only the most recent case study should need translated; no changes were made to any of the others.

Hello,

Regarding the "needs update" issue, I tried to check one of the posts edit revision log to trace why this could happen but I couldn't, it seems that I don't have permission to check it or you didn't add it to this post type configuration, but anyway, you can neglect it if it's not affecting either the original post or the translation.

If you want to check this issue, please refer back to your web developer to check the revision log, as it might be something that periodically happens automatically in the case study configuration.

Best regards,
Ahmed Mamdouh.
