This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem:
The client was experiencing a 404 error on the English version of their homepage, which was no longer synced as the English homepage. Additionally, attempts to recreate the English translation resulted in the page appearing under Pages but in Croatian, not showing up in the English Pages section.
Solution:
We first requested access to the site to closely examine the configuration. After gaining access, we identified that the homepage needed to be translated into English and other languages needed their translations updated. We manually connected the English version to the original page and updated the translations to German and Italian, resolving the issue.
If you're experiencing a similar issue, we recommend translating your homepage into the necessary languages and ensuring all translations are up to date. If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, please check related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If problems persist, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
