Background of the issue:
I am trying to display my French images on the French page using WPML's Media Translation. The content is updated through the Classic Translation Editor (CTE) because I work with XLIFF files. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link. I have updated WPML to the latest versions on a local environment.

Symptoms:
The French media, which are properly translated (dedicated image + alt), do not show up on the frontend. Instead, the CTE offers me the English media for the French translation after updating the translated content. This issue also occurs after updating WPML on a local copy of the website.

Questions:
Why are the French images not displaying on the French page?
Why does the CTE offer English media for the French translation after updates?
What's even funnier, it that before trying to edit my content through the CTE, the images on the frontend were the french one. As soon as I update the translation, the CTE offers english translations for the medias (while the french version do exist), and the images offered in the frontend further on will also be the english ones.

I solved it. Once again, the issue just vanished once I purged all caches/deactivated W3TC/Reactivated W3TC.
Most issues are actually caused by the combination of WPML and W3 Total Cache, even with the Pro extension, meant to handle WPML specific requirements.

Considering WPML drastically slows down WordPress instances, especially with WooCommerce, it would really be worth it you guys teams up to solve these major issues.

Which are, just for the past 2 days:
- Images not being translated
- *some* posts, of a specific post type, were not available from the translation management panel.

And beyond that:
- WooCommerce Multilingual: Broken image translations
- Taxonomy broken syncing: tags, categories, etc...
- Menu syncing
- Post categories not ticked but appearing on the frontend

And so much more.

All of these issues solve by themself, by:

1. Clearing caches
2. Deactivating
3. Sometimes re-save the origial content/
4. Reactivating caching

Hello,

glad to hear you managed to work out and solve things out.

If you still have issues that happen and can be reproduced please let us know or open a new ticket / chat and we will be glad to help with any kind. Note we limit 1 issue per ticket to keep things clear.

Since it seems related issue was solved and is not happening anymore I suggest we close this ticket.

Regards,
Drazen
