I hope you're doing well. I've encountered an issue with my website that I believe is related to the integration between WPML and the Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) plugin.
When I translate taxonomies on my site, the ACF fields, which are set to "copy" values, are not displayed for the translations. However, if I manually go into each translated taxonomy and click "update", the ACF values then appear. Given the number of taxonomies I have, it's not feasible to do this manually for each one.
I've reviewed the settings in both WPML and ACF and everything seems to be set up correctly. However, the issue persists.
Can you please advise on a solution or provide guidance on how to ensure ACF values are automatically displayed for translated taxonomies without the need for manual updates?
Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
When I disabled the Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual plugin and created taxonomies, fields with the value copy were displayed in the taxonomy. Now I have turned on this Advanced Custom Fields Multilingual plugin again and started creating translations of taxonomies, but fields such as the icon are not displayed on the front of taxonomies until I click update in the editor of the taxonomy itself.
Did you see the ACF field options after the taxonomy translations were done?
For example, go to taxonomies and create a brand new one then add the translation, does this issue persist or it does not happen with newly created taxonomies
I have now created a new taxonomy, added a translation to it. But the same thing, I see that the field is filled in in the admin panel, but on the front it is not displayed until I click update in the taxonomy.
To create a translation of the taxonomy, I used Taxonomy Translation
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to test the issue.
(preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible)
**Before we proceed It is necessary to take FULL BACKUP of your database and your website. Providing us with access, you agree that a backup has been taken **
I often use the Duplicator plugin for this purpose: http://wordpress.org/plugins/duplicator/
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply.
The information you enter is private which means only you and I have access to it.
NOTE: If access to the live site is not possible and the staging site does not exist please provide me with a duplicator package created with the duplicator plugin.
I have done a few tests -- I could not reproduce this behavior in a clean environment locally, however, I did reproduce it on your site with 2 test posts.
see the last one I performed here: hidden link
It includes a lot of different colors, but when duplicating to French only 2 of them (beige and black) display in the front end, but in the backend I can see all of them listed and assigned correctly.
I also created a post in French directly and while in the edit page I only have a few color options available.
See here: hidden link
Based on the above information it looks like there are some inconsistencies with the way the color taxonomy is available in the secondary languages.
Is there any custom element involved in the way this ACF is created in order to display the hex color?
At the moment updating the post does not help nor does deactivating the ACFML plugin.
Please review and advise to ensure I am not missing a step in reproducing this behavior correctly on your site.
