This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client wants to understand the 'language switching for the login page' option under the WPML Language Settings. They are concerned about the user experience as the language reverts to English on the login page, despite users switching to other languages like German, Spanish, or Italian. The client is also seeking assurance that they can revert any changes if needed.

Solution:
We explained that by enabling the language switcher on the login page, users will be directed to the admin area in the language they have chosen. This improves the user experience by maintaining language consistency throughout the login process.

We reassured the client that if they decide to disable this feature in the future, the language switcher will no longer appear on the login and registration pages, reverting to the current behavior. We also referenced the guide on translating WordPress login and registration pages for further assistance:

I am trying to understand the "language switching for the login page" option under the WPML Language Settings. I do not currently have a language switcher on my login page and the user experience is not the best since the language changes to English even if you have switched to German, Spanish, or Italian. I would like to understand what will happen if I enable the option and whether I can, if there is a problem, go back without trouble.

I have reviewed the article https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/translating-wordpress-login-and-registration-pages/ and also searched the WPML knowledge base but do not find additional discussion about this option so I can understand my particular situation

What is the link to your site? hidden link and the login page is hidden link

Hello Thomas,

Thank you for contacting the support.

About login page translation, if you follow the guide, it states:

With WPML, you can translate your login and registration pages and seamlessly direct your site users to the admin area in the language they chose.

While with default WordPress language switcher on login page, when they log in, they see the site admin area in the default language (instead of the chosen language).

So if you want your users to experience the admin area (after login) in their desired language, then you need to translate login/registration pages as mentioned in the guide.

You can turn this off when you don't need it anymore. In this case, no language switcher 'll be shown on login/register pages (like it is now).

Does this answer your query? Please feel free to discuss more about it.

Regards.
