This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client needed to know the procedure for retranslating a post that was originally translated with the Classic WPML editor but then modified in the WordPress Editor.
Solution:
1. If the client wants to start from scratch, they should:
- Go to Pages.
- Switch the language at the top to the language of the translation.
- Find the page with the translation and delete it.
- Also, delete it from the "Trash" area.

2. If the client just wants to edit the text in the current translated version:
- They can directly edit the translation in the WordPress Editor.

We recommend not switching between the classic editor and the WordPress editor as it may cause issues. It is better to consistently use one editor.

We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins.

Post was translated with Classic wpml editor. Than it was changed and saved in WordPress Editor.

Now the original language post has been rewritten and needs to be translated by a translator.

What is the procedure I need to take that he needs to follow.

Thank you
Matej

Hi Matej.

Well, if you want to start from scratch, you should be able to go to Pages > then switch the language at the top to the language in which you have the translation > then find the page that contains the translation and delete it + delete it from the "Trash" area (there will be a "Trash" red text showing at the top).

But please note that this will remove the existing translation completely.

If you just want to edit the text in the current translated version, then you can just edit the translation straight inside the WordPress Editor if you want to continue using that.

It is not recommended to switch the translation editors because things might break at some point. You should keep using either the classic editor or the WordPress editor, not switch between them.

I hope that you will find all this information helpful. 🙂
