Background of the issue:
Edit: I do not know why the support page chose to rewrite my own text. I will add my original text here, and then you can read the rewritten version below:

Hello,

I am trying to translate a product in WooCommerce.

Line breaks seems not to work. When I enter text in the product description box, hit enter to go to a new line, and then add text there, the line breaks does not show up in the WPML advanced translator.

Example:
When I write the following in the product description box (screenshot 1):
Test
Test
Test

Then the following appears in the WPML translator (screenshot 2, left column):
Test Test Test

Which means that on my website, in the original language, this show in the product description:
Test
Test
Test

But on the translated page, this is the product description:
Test Test Test

So the layout gets broken on the translated page.

Also:
When I am entering translated text in the right column of the advanced translator (screenshot 2, right column), the cursor will jump back to the start of the line I am writing when I pause my typing for a few seconds.

Example:
If I was writing this translation into the right column:
"Hello, this is a translated text", and then make a short pause in my typing, the cursor will jump from its current position (which is to the right of the word "text") to a new position which is to the left of the word "Hello".

Also:
The advanced translator no longer remembers a translation that I have already typed in higher up in the translator.

Example:
Wordpress creates 3 copies of every image that I upload to my site, with different sizes. All these images have the same name, and they appear 3 times in the advanced translator.
Before, the advanced translator has always remembered the translation I did for the first of these 3 images, so when I go to the second and the third image, my previous translation was automatically filled in.
This no longer happens, and I have to write the same translation 3 times for every image

Also:
When I go to WPML > Translations, the page that opens up is completely broken (screenshot 3 and 4):

Rewritten version below:
I am trying to translate a product in WooCommerce using WPML. When I enter text in the product description box, hit enter to go to a new line, and then add text there, the line breaks do not show up in the WPML advanced translator. Additionally, when entering translated text in the right column of the advanced translator, the cursor jumps back to the start of the line when I pause my typing for a few seconds. The advanced translator no longer remembers a translation that I have already typed in higher up in the translator. When I go to WPML > Translations, the page that opens up is completely broken.

Symptoms:
Line breaks in product descriptions are not preserved in the WPML advanced translator. Cursor jumps back to the start of the line when pausing typing. Advanced translator does not remember previous translations for repeated items. WPML > Translations page is broken.

Questions:
Why are line breaks not preserved in the WPML advanced translator?
Why does the cursor jump back to the start of the line when pausing typing in the advanced translator?
Why does the advanced translator no longer remember previous translations for repeated items?
Why is the WPML > Translations page broken?

Hi there,

As the issue seems to be multifaceted I suggest that you turn the Advanced translation editor to the Gen 2 version following the steps below:

https://wpml.org/errata/disabling-i-prefer-bigger-segments-is-not-working-properly/

– Go to the top right corner of the translation editor
– Click the gear icon
– Enable the option “Use the previous version of the Advanced Translation Editor.”
– Refresh the page and search for the attribute again.

That will bring the previous version which seems to be working ok for you.

Thanks.
