Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page, made with Elementor, from the original in Spanish into Catalan and English. I duplicate it and translate it with WPML. I have tried to duplicate the error by making a test page in Elementor with just one picture, duplicating and translating it with WPML, but the text and images are shown correctly.
I have prepared a staging sit with wp-admin and FTP credentials to check errors as requested by Dražen Duvnjak.
Symptoms:
New translated pages (made with Elementor) from Spanish do not show images, although the text appears correctly.
Questions:
Why are the images not displaying on the translated pages from Spanish to Catalan and English?
What steps should I follow to ensure images appear correctly on translated pages?
Can the ticket 'Images in Catalan and English version of a pege won't be seen' be continued.
I am not pretty sure where exactly have you saved the WP backend in the CA page. I can see in the staging area, now it shows in the images, not only if you visit the URL, but also if the page is checked from the WP Bakery editor, while it is not shown in the production page.
Can you please tell me how exactly did you save the page?
I am also not sure how the issue in the Elementor CSS can happen, actually there is no custom CSS in the Elementor page, as Elementor only allows CSS customisation on its Pro version, which we do not have.
Sorry if I seem not to have understood what were your actions. I just need to reproduce them in the production page and repeat the same thing with the English version.
you should not check the page with WPBakery builder since you are using Elementor. I would also advise not using multiple builders on the same site as it can cause issues, not only related to WPML.
It is not custom ELlementor CSS, but regular CSS from a page that Elementor creates for each page when created.
1) I edited the page in the default language and just clicked the Save button:
- hidden link
2) Updated translations in the WPML editor by clicking the arrows icon
3) From top bar where it says ES, I clicked on which leads me to edit page of CA page: hidden link
I am sorry, but still no success. I tried following your instructions, but something looks different, and certain things are not visible. Let's see it step by step:
1. hidden link
While in the staging area, you can see the Multilingual Content Setup (foto_1_pre), it cannot be seen in the actual page (foto_1_www).
Nonetheless, I clicked on the Save button.
2. Although the arrows icon is not visible any more, it was when I did follow the 1st step, and updated the translations.
3. This is what I get (foto_2_pre) when I follow your link. In the production site, I select the Catalan pages from the CA drop menu in the top bar, and get the same.
I understand that translations should not be done directly with Elementor.
Anyway, I cannot reproduce what you did. I am quite stuck.
Also, I might not be using WPML properly. When we activated WPM around a year ago, I remember there was the chance for a 1-hour direct help, I saw it was possible with Yvete, who speaks Spanish. Somehow, I never used this possibility. How could I do it?
that is setup help for when configuration wpml, for any other issue or doubts you can open a new chat, and we will be glad to help.
As for your current issue, there could be that something is causing an issue with this page on your live website, since I tested this on staging with a regular theme and disabled some plugins. Since you have a custom theme it might be possible it is causing issues with saving of page.
Can you switch to the WP default theme and disable all other plugins leave active only WPML plugins and Elementor and then re-retry to save to see if that fixes the issue?
I have done this:
Can you switch to the WP default theme and disable all other plugins, leave active only WPML plugins and Elementor and then re-retry to save to see if that fixes the issue?
But the images keep not showing.
Regarding the .mo files, I will ask now to the server admin to provide 0755 permissions to all the files, since I cannot do it.
sure, can you please create a new staging site again and let me check, it might be there is some difference or if possible provide FTP and admin access to the live website so I can check there. Make sure to have a backup and I will try to check.
Note I will need to switch theme and plugins On and OFF.
Thanks,
Drazen
