[Resolved] Set different logo using string translation
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client was unable to translate the custom logo in their child theme of GeneratePress, despite adding the post ID of the media they wanted in the translation. The original logo was still displaying in both the default and translated versions. Solution: We asked the client for the file name of the translated logo and requested temporary access to their site for further investigation. Upon reviewing the WPML String Translation settings, we discovered two records for the media ID "11427" (the Swedish logo). Only one of these records was added to WPML String Translation. We added the correct record to String Translation, translated it, and confirmed that the logo now displays correctly on the translated page, as seen here: https://staging.ways.se/en/clients/.

I have tried adding the custom_logo theme option to string translation for my child theme of GeneratePress and added the post id of the media I want on my translation but it still shows the original in both cases.
1. Can you please let me know what is the name of the file that contains the correct version of the translated logo so that I know what to look for? If you also have an URL, that would definitely help.
2. I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Our Debugging Procedures
I will be checking various settings in the backend to see if the issue can be resolved. Although I won't be making changes that affect the live site, it is still good practice to backup the site before providing us access. In the event that we do need to debug the site further, I will duplicate the site and work in a separate, local development environment to avoid affecting the live site.
- Please make a backup of the site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box.
I should add that my default language in Swedish, and to add custom_logo to string translation with Swedish original I had to change my user profile to Swedish first, otherwise the original string would be in English, which is wrong. I do not know if this is a factor in my issue.
