[Waiting for user feedback] Slugs have been translated manually, saved, and updated but they have not updated on the live site
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
Background of the issue:
I have translated content to French and updated the slugs to include a French translation from the English version. Despite saving and updating the slugs, they have not updated on the live site. The issue can be seen at: hidden link. I expected to see: hidden link as the translated URL.
I have cleared cache both browser and server-side.
Symptoms:
The URL is not live and shows a 404 error. The internal links are not updated either. Instead of the translated URL, the non-translated URL resolves under the /fr/ subdirectory.
Questions:
Why are the translated slugs not updating on the live site?
How can I resolve the 404 error for the translated URL?
Thanks for your patience. Here is the ticket and I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
Thanks for your reply. I've enabled translation for your Page URL settings here hidden link in WPML > Settings > Translated documents options > Page URL > Translate (this will include the slug in the translation and not create it automatically from the title) as shown in the attached screenshot, and it works now hidden link
When you switch that option, you need to resave the primary language page. Then, the Advanced Translation Editor will rescan the page and shows the URL slug for translation. Could you test this on your other existing pages?
Thanks for your reply. This is what I've done hidden link . If it's not working on your live site, could you backup and share WP admin access here so that I can check?
