This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is concerned about the high usage of translation points for product descriptions that are mostly similar, questioning why translation memory does not recognize these similarities. The client also inquires about earning translation points, refunding points, and deleting translation tasks.
Solution:
We explained that translation memory requires segments to be identical to match and be reused; even slight differences mean they need to be translated anew. Regarding earning points, the client can purchase a credits package or use a pay-as-you-go system. If the client prefers to translate manually, they can assign themselves as the translator via WPML > Translation Management, then go to WPML > Translations to take and translate the page. Unfortunately, once translation credits are used, they cannot be refunded as the cost has already been incurred with the third-party translation engine. Additionally, translation tasks cannot be deleted but can be canceled from WPML > Translation Management > Jobs, or reassigned to the client for a new translation attempt.

My product descriptions are mostly the same, so why am I penalized for all characters when translating each product?I have translation memory turned on
The product in the picture cost over 1,000 points. Are the product descriptions mostly the same, with only some specifications different? Why were so many points deducted?

translation memory works in such way, that segment needs to be identical to be matched in memory, if it is different even slightly, it is not the same, so it can not be used from memory and needs to be translated.

From image what you shared I can not tell much, if you wish you can share with me 2 product URL that you think description should be loaded from memory and I can check if that is correct or not.

But as said, whole segment needs to match to be used from memory.

Hello,

I do not understand what do you mean by "how can I earn points". If you mean translation credits, you can buy credits package or use pay-as-you-go.

If you wish to translate yourself, you can send page for translation from WPML > Translation Management, chose yourself as translator.

Then go to WPML > Translations > Take and translate your page. Translate it 100%, save and complete the job.

Hello,

I am afraid not, once the credits are charged and job is translated it can not be refunded or returned, because we have already paid translation engine 3rd party for those translations.

Hello,

you can not delete it, you only cancel job from WPML > Translation Management > Jobs, or you can send the page again for translation to yourself and it will start new job where you can then translate / add new translation.
