Hi,

I need to translate a string that is displayed on woocommerce checkout page next to a checkbox (this string was inserted by this plugin we use https://wordpress.org/plugins/customer-reviews-woocommerce/ )

I tried to translate it by going to WPML > String Translation as for all other strings but nothing. This string cannot be found. I also followed suggestions from clicking "can't find a string to translate?" but this string could not be found

usually this plugin has all strings under the domain called "ivole"

I attached screenshot of the position of this string in the code via chrome dev tools

How do I find this string to translate it?

Let me know, thanks

Best regards,

Letizia

Hi Letizia,
Thanks for contacting WPML support.

Please try this:

- Go to WPML String Translation
- Scroll down to the "Auto register strings for translation" section and enable that option
- Visit the page where the string is added on the front end
- Go back to String translation
- Search again for the string and translate it
- Disable the "Auto register" option

Let me know please if that helps.

Kind regards,
Mohamed

Hi Mohamed,

Thank you so much, I finally translated this string

I have another issue:
I can't find this other string to translate even with the box ticked for "Auto register strings for translation" :
$... (includes $... VAT 20%)

I also attached a screenshot of its position with Chrome dev tools

as in this case it shouldn't be solely translated but in the default language should have the 20% removed

Let me know, thanks
Best regards,
Letizia

Hi,

I'm glad to hear that the first issue is resolved.

I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin) so I can check the other strings.
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –

Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I have access to it.

Hi,

I translated:
1. the string (includes %s) in domains "woocommerce-pdf-invoices-packing-slips" and "woocommerce"
2. the string VAT within the domain "woocommerce"

I already translated the string "% has been added to your cart" but its translations are not shown (I did the search with the box ticked "Auto register strings for translation")

What would you suggest that I can do?

Thanks for your help

Hi,

Since Mohsmed currently has a day off, I will replace him here in the forum. I hope this is OK for you.

Please clear the site's cache to check if this is a caching issue. Also, please search for the string again to check if another string needs to be translated.
Sometimes, the string is added to String Translation more than once, so you need to translate the correct one.

Also, please try the following steps:
1- Go to WPML-> Theme and plugins localization, select your theme/plugin, and scan
2- Go to WPML-> String Translation
3- Scroll down and click on the "Translate texts in admin screens »" link
4- Search for the needed strings
5- Select the strings
6- Click on the "Add to String Translation" button
7- Then click on the "« Return to String Translation" link
8- Translate the strings, clear the cache, and check the front end

Kindly check our guide to know more about translating texts in the admin texts screen. (https://wpml.org/documentation/getting-started-guide/string-translation/finding-strings-that-dont-appear-on-the-string-translation-page/)

Best regards,
Osama
