Background of the issue:
I was trying to use the WPML plugin for automatic translation on my website. After a translation update, I noticed issues with the website's appearance. The link to the page where the issue can be seen is hidden link.

Symptoms:
After the automatic translation, only gibberish appears on every website. The header disappeared after the translation update, and although it has been reactivated, the logo and language flags are no longer visible. hidden link

Questions:
Why does only gibberish appear after the automatic translation?
Why did the header disappear after the translation update?
Why is the logo no longer visible even though it is correctly integrated?
Why are the language flags no longer visible?

On top of that, we constantly have to translate the same things over and over again. This page was already completely translated. Now everything is back in German again!!! This happens all the time.

It looks like the language setting has been completely disabled! The existing settings are no longer available! What the hell is going on!

Thanks for your reply. I've checked your Website here hidden link and I can see some broken image issues. Looks like the logo on the translated homepage is broken and I'd need to check your Website backend.

I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

As for moving the language switcher to the search icon, I've split the ticket here https://wpml.org/forums/topic/move-the-language-switcher-to-the-search-icon-2/ so that we can follow up.
