Background of the issue:
Our site (houzez theme) is in English by default. After translating into German, the German content is suddenly displayed on the English site. On the German site, the content is correct in German. On the French site, the content is correct in French. However, on the English site, the content is German. We tried to make small changes and save them but without success. All plugins are up to date. We tried to translate pages again but it didn't help. Strings also changed again but without success.
Symptoms:
German content is displayed on the English site instead of English content.

How can we ensure the English content is displayed correctly on the English site?
Unfortunately, the translated language (German) was adopted as the main domain in the string. I therefore had to translate almost everything that I had translated into German into the default language in English in the string.
