Hi,

we are experiencing multiple issues after changing the primary language on our site and would appreciate your help.

Background

The site was originally developed in Slovenian.

It was translated to English using PTC (automatic translation).

After that, English was set as the default / primary language.

1) WooCommerce product synchronization

Products are currently not synced between languages.

Changes to categories, prices, and other product data in one language do not update in the other.

Our goal is to have shared products, where core data (prices, categories, attributes) stays in sync, and only translations differ.

2) Broken Kadence / Gutenberg blocks (missing images/icons)

After migration and switching the primary language, some Kadence blocks broke, mainly InfoBox blocks where icons/images disappeared.

Example:

Recovered block (working):

Broken block:

When we manually recover the blocks, they display correctly again.
However, doing this page by page is not acceptable, so we are looking for a global or automated solution.

Questions

Is it possible to trigger block recovery automatically (globally)?

Why are image/icon references lost during block recovery?

Is this related to changing the primary language in WPML?

Are there known issues with WPML + Kadence + language switching?

How can this be prevented in the future?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,
David

Hi David,

We have analyzed the issue, and it appears that the "purpose" taxonomy terms were not correctly synchronized to the English version.

To fix this, I navigated to WPML > Support > Troubleshooting > Synchronize posts taxonomies and ran the synchronization process specifically for Products.

Could you please check the site and let me know if the taxonomy assignments are now displaying correctly?

Best regards,
Lukas
