Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate blocks on my site using MemoQ. I have set the translation type to 'Expert' and ensured all fields are set to be translatable. Some blocks with the same settings are successfully translated.

Symptoms:
Certain blocks are not being sent to MemoQ for translation despite having the same settings as other blocks that are successfully translated.

Questions:
Why are some blocks not being sent to MemoQ for translation?
Are there specific settings required for ACF fields in blocks to ensure they are translatable?

I've updated all of the fields in the block to be "Translate", but I'm still not able to translate the blocks. I've provided screenshots to show the issue.
1. The blocks on the page
2. The translation screen
3. The Image with title and content block with a field showing that it's set to "Translate"
4. The Call to Action block with a field showing that it's set to "Don't Translate", but it's available to translate.

Hello there,

Thank you so much for sharing your ressults.

I would like to look at this directly on your site. For this I would need temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site, preferably to a test/staging site where the problem has been replicated if possible.

The required fields can be found below the comments section. The information you enter is private, i.e. only you and I can see it and have access to it.

I may need to replicate your website locally. To do this, I need to temporarily install a plugin called "Duplicator" or "All in One WP Migration" on your website. This will allow me to create a copy of your website and content. Once the issue is resolved, I will delete the local website. Let me know if this works for you.

IMPORTANT

Please make a backup copy of the site files and database before giving us access.

- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields, this means your post and site login details are being made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details if you do not see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:

Hey there,

I've accessed the website, but couldn't find the issue. There are no field groups on ACF, nor could I find the translation you sent as an example (it/solution/soluzione-di-prova-per-il-test-di-traduzione/).

I need to check the issue directly. Is it present on the website you sent? If so, where?

If it's not there, please update the staging website, so it reflects the issue you're having. I'm waiting for your feedback.

Apologies, I sent the credentials develop site instead of staging. I've added it to the develop site. Here is the editing url for the post: hidden link.

If you try to translate it into any language, you'll see that there is a block that can't be translated. The site has 99 Field Groups on it, please let me know if you don't see them.

Thank you!

Hey there,

Thank you for clarifying and waiting. Before proceeding, there's something I need to confirm.

When you first brought the issue, you reported that "Certain blocks are not being sent to MemoQ for translation despite having the same settings as other blocks that are successfully translated". That lead me to understand that the blocks weren't showing up inside your translation editor.

Now that I checked the website, I noted that the blocks (the Title, for example) are showing inside WPML Translation Editor (and thus should show inside MemoQ), but the translations are not showing on the front end. Is that the current issue?

I'm asking that because you made changes to the ACF settings, and to ensure we are on the same page. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter.

Hello,

Only some blocks are being show in the editor/sent to MemoQ. If you check the post I sent, you'll see there are core paragraph blocks that I've added that show which block shows & which block doesn't. It isn't just the "Image with Title & Content" that doesn't show, but I've been using that one to troubleshoot.

For clarification:
- "Image with Title & Content" block does not show in the translation editor and is sent to MemoQ
- "Call to Action" block does show in the editor & is sent to MemoQ

Thanks!

Hello Lisa,

Thanks for clarifying. I'll need more time to check this issue along with my colleagues, thank you for your patience. I'll get back once I have new information.

Thank you. Can we remove the backup you created? We received an alert from the host that we're close to hitting our maximum disk space.

Hi,

my colleague Lucas is currently unavailable, so I will be taking over this case.

I can see that the site has registered custom blocks with field groups assigned to them. All of the field groups appear to be set to Expert mode.

For example, in the "Block: Image with title & content" group, some settings are not configured correctly. The fields inside Accordion layouts are currently set to Translate, but they should instead be set to Copy (or Copy once).

When using Expert mode, it’s important to manually configure the translation preferences for all fields in all field groups. Please review the following documentation to ensure the settings are applied correctly:
https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/recommended-custom-fields-translation-preferences-for-acf-and-wpml/

After adjusting the preferences, you may need to re-translate the affected content. If you still notice that fields are missing from the Advanced Translation Editor, please let me know.

(Just as a note for reference: the WYSIWYG field is an exception—its translated content is not stored in the translated post but swapped dynamically when the field is output.)

Best regards,
Marcel

So to clarify, the Accordion field itself needs to be set to "Translate" so that the fields below will translate? Because I see that the fields inside the accordion are marked to be "Translate", but the Accordion itself is not. Thanks!
