This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is developing a site and wants to ensure that a filterable gallery on an Elementor page is the same in both the German and English versions. The client desires that changes made to the German version automatically sync with the English version, specifically for the gallery images and descriptions.
Solution:
First, confirm whether the gallery is a standard Elementor Gallery or a third-party Elementor add-on. If it's from the Essential add-ons for Elementor, ensure that the WPML Media plugin is installed to manage image translations. Follow the steps outlined in the erratum for issues with the Essential add-ons for Elementor filterable gallery widget fields not being translatable: https://wpml.org/errata/essential-addons-for-elementor-filterable-gallery-widget-fields-not-translatable/.

To sync the gallery descriptions:
- Navigate to WP Dashboard > Pages.
- Click the pencil/circle icon next to the page containing the gallery.
- Access the advanced translation editor.
- Copy the original language content to the translation by clicking the copy button or simply pasting it.
- Ensure the translation is 100% complete.

This process will help maintain consistent gallery descriptions across different language versions. There is no global setting to force the descriptions to copy as they are part of the WordPress content and not separate custom fields. Background of the issue:

Symptoms:
No specific issue or error message mentioned.

Questions:
What is the best approach to ensure the Elementor gallery syncs automatically between the German and English versions?

Hi,

Welcome to WPML support. It is hard to know what is possible without knowing if you are talking about a normal Elementor Gallery or a third party Elementor add-on.

Would you please provide the debug information?
https://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support/

If by filterable gallery you mean the one from Essential add-ons for Elementor you should see the same images for both languages unless you translate them from WPML > Media translation if you installed the WPML Media plugin.

Also we have an open erratum that you need to follow the steps in:

https://wpml.org/errata/essential-addons-for-elementor-filterable-gallery-widget-fields-not-translatable/

After that please do a small change on the page and check the advanced translation editor and you should see all the gallery related fields.

If you want those fields to be the same, just simply add the same content in the translate language and make sure the translation is 100%.

The rest will be a normal translation syncing, that is if there is a change in the original language, the icon for the page will change t circle and you can make sure the content is syncing by going to the advanced translation editor.

Thanks.

The gallery is a elementor multiple gallery - the customer wants the images and descriptions to be the same on de/en - so the whole gallery shouldnt change, only the text...

What is the best approach? Global Element as gallery?

Thanks again,
Tobias

Hi Tobias,

As the Gallery is the normal ELemnetyor gallery it is part of the content. That is why the only way to do or do not anything on that is while you translate the page and by accessing the advanced translation editor.

- Go to WP Dashboard > Pages
- Click the pencil/circle icon next to the page that contains the gallery.
- You will see the advanced translation editor.
- The Gallery description will be available there, you need to copy the original language content to translation there by clicking the copy button there. or simply paste it.
- Make sure that the translation is 100% complete.

There is no global way of forcing the description to be copied as the description is part of the content of WordPress and not a separate custom field.

Thanks.
