Hello! I have lots of old and unused meta fields created with JetEngine. I have deleted them both from the JetEngine and the database, yet they still appear in the Translation Editor, which causes confusion. Same with text from the WordPress WYSIWYG Text Editor. The text is deleted but it still appears in the Translation Editor. How do I completely remove them from the Translation Editor?
Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me provide you with first debugging steps or if I can perhaps help with the issue quickly.
After you have deleted the content from the original page and the database, please follow these steps to see if the translation editor still shows the fields:
1. Go to WPML -> Translation Management -> Translation Jobs and cancel the in progress job. If there is no in progress job, continue to the next steps.
2. Edit the default page. Make any small change and update the page.
3. Go to WPML -> Translation Management and send this page to the translation basket. Tick the checkbox, scroll down and click translate, then you will see the translation basket tab.
4. Click the translation basket and send the page to yourself as a translator.
5. Go to WPML -> Translations and take and translate the page. Save the translation 100% and then let's see if the correct content shows.
Ok, I think I figured out what the problem was. There was indeed old values still left in the old meta fields and that's because they appeared in the Translation Editor. I just needed to temporarily re-add these old meta fields and then delete the content. After that they are no longer displayed in the Translation Editor. Sorry for the false alarm 🙂
