Hello.

We are working on a website (test2.orsalia.gr) as a test bed for what will become the final website of a company that organizes and manages music and other events.
We are using Events Calendar plugin in order to create, manage and present the events and the theme is The Gig. Also most of the content is created with Elementor. Most of the website is ready, but we have some issues with the translated events. The original language is Greek and we want to translate in English. We have two pages (Upcoming and Past events) that they work perfectly in Greek. We translated some of the events to English (both upcoming and past) but for some strange reason out of 5 it shows only 2 past events and none of the upcoming. We checked for any differences with the ones showing, we created the page again but no luck.
Also I would like to note that the translated events show up perfectly when we view them one by one.
The offending pages are the following:
1. hidden link
2. hidden link

Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.

1) First of all, sorry for the late reply due to a higher workload. I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
Preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated.

Your answer will be private, meaning only you and I can access it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.

✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.

2) It's not related to the issue, but according to your Debug.info, the WP memory limit needs to be increased. PHP memory is fine, but WordPress uses 40Mb as default. The minimum requirements for WPML are 128 MB. (Kindly check this page https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/)

You can increase it by adding the following code in your wp-config.php file right before the /* That's all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */ line:

/* Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '256M');

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,

Thanks for the access details. Please login to this sandbox site and create some test events. (hidden link)

After that, please translate the events and create a test page to replicate the issue. If the issue is replicable, please let me know how to reproduce it.

Thanks for your cooperation.

Best regards,
Osama

Hi,
we have made some tests to the sandbox and the events are shown in both languages. Then we created a page to show the events with Elementor and when we tried to translate it the screen went white.
Also please note that the problem in the original website is that we translate the events, but when we try to show them in a page not all of them are shown in the second language without having any difference (between the ones that show vs the ones that don't show). It seems random.
Thank you

Hi,

Thanks for your update. I translated the page on the sandbox. Please check if it works correctly. (hidden link)

We try to replicate the issue to find what triggers the problem. If the issue is not replicable on the sandbox, please check if the issue persists in a minimal environment by following these steps.

1- Deactivate all the plugins except the active plugins on the sandbox.
2- Switch to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty-one.
3- Create a new test page to show the past events and translate it.

If the issue is gone, activate them one by one to see which one is causing an interaction issue.

❌ Please backup your database before performing the above test ❌

Best regards,
Osama

Hello,
Following our tests on the sandbox and the active website, we noticed the following:
1. The default URL for Events calendar to show the upcoming & past events (regardless of theme or plugins) is "root domain"/events.
2. On the sandbox we can see both upcoming and past events in both languages
3. On our website we see all events (upcoming & past) in the original language and when we switch to the translations we don't see any upcoming events and only some random past events.
4. This behavior continues if for example we try to show the events through an element in a page. No upcoming events and the same random past events.
5. Also under examination we cannot find any reason or something different that could make some translated events to show and some not.

According to Events Calendar documentation the default URL to show the events is not related to any theme or plugin (except the Events Calendar)

Thank you

Hi,

I created a new event and translated it. After that, I checked the events page, and it appeared correctly. (hidden link)

Please let me know how you translated your exciting events.

Best regards,
Osama
