Hi Laura

Any news on the post type translation? I just saw that in the translation manager there are fields that I dont want to translate. Like CSS and so on. Can you check?

Thanks

Hi,

we currently don’t have a way to exclude items from the Translation Management section.
So even if the CPT setting (like custom_css in your case) is disabled under WPML → Settings, it will still be visible there.

Could you please elaborate on your exact use case?
Is there a technical reason for wanting to exclude it, or is it mainly to keep the overview cleaner?

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi there

Thanks for the reply. Here is a description:

https://wpml.org/forums/topic/animation-addons-for-elementor-wealcoder/#post-17536398

I’m using the Animations Addons for Elementor plugin by Wealcoder. And the hello Animations Theme. The modules from this plugin (e.g., Animated Text, Animated Title, etc.) are used on every page. I would like to translate the content of these modules using WPML.

However, none of the texts or fields from these modules appear in the WPML Translation Manager (Advanced Translation Editor).

WPML correctly detects the page itself and all standard Elementor modules, but not the content within the Animation Addons modules.

Example page: hidden link

Symptoms:
In the Translation Editor, only the standard Elementor texts are shown — all content from the Animation Addons modules is completely missing. As a result, it’s not possible to translate the animated texts or titles.

Questions:

Why don’t the contents of the Animation Addons modules appear in the WPML Translation Manager?

How can I make the content from the Animation Addons modules translatable with WPML?

-------------------------

Because there were no fields visible in the Translations Manager, I changed some setting in WPML/Settings/Translation of custom fields. Since then there are 100s of fields visible, like height, width etc.

Is there a way to make the site translatable via the translation manager?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

Yes! If the content from your widgets doesn’t appear in the editor, you’ll need to make it translatable using an XML configuration file.

For Elementor, you can use our plugin to automatically generate that configuration. You’ll find detailed instructions here:
Registering Custom Elementor Widgets for Translation

Once that’s done, you can use the regular translation workflow — there’s no need to hide the section anymore.

Best regards,
Marcel

Hi Marcel

I already tried this with Laura, but I’ll give it another shot.

The issue happens with pages or templates (Screenshot).
I use the old editor, not the advanced.

Could you please log in to my page and check one of the sites in the Translation Manager? I’d really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Funny enough, the fields appear among the hundreds of system fields now when I translate a page. But when I translate it and save it, it always reverts to 59% completion, and all the same fields are empty again. Example page: /ueber-uns

Now the hunderts of fields are gone. I sent the website to translation again. But now the relevant fields are missing again. (Homepage). I need the fields from Animation Addons and so on.

Hi,

Have you already added the mentioned XML configuration for those fields?

Hi

The Website has moved to a new Domain today:

avantage.swiss

I really need assistance with the XML. Could you take a look at the website?

Thank you.

Hi Yannic,

I would eventually also need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to your site
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed

Your next answer will be private which means only you and I have access to it.

❌ Please backup your database and website ❌

✙ I would additionally need your permission to de-activate and re-activate Plugins and the Theme, and to change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is really important.

✙ Please add the Links to the […] Edit Screen, the Page/Post where you insert the […] and the corresponding Front End Page/Screen

Best Regards,
Marcel
