We notice that some pages appear to be translated and even published, even though they are not live. As a result, some URLs show as translated despite being 404 errors, and the URL of the page that should actually be live is modified and published. For example, there is a "Contact" page and an unpublished "Contact" page. They add the number "2" at the end of the URL for the published "Contact" page, causing it to return a 404 error. This was the issue; now let me move on to my main question. Can we delete the pages of a language, such as German pages, and have them retranslated and recreated?
I don't have access to your credentials anymore, so please share them here again. Thanks and sorry for the hassle 🙂
I would like to request temporary access (wp-admin and FTP) to your site to take a better look at the issue. It would be better to a testing site where the issue is replicated.
You will find the needed fields for this below the comment area when you log in to leave your next reply. The information you will enter is private which means only you and I can see and have access to it.
Maybe I'll need to replicate your site locally. For this, I’ll need to temporarily install a plugin called “Duplicator” or "All in One WP Migration" on your site. This will allow me to create a copy of your site and your content. Once the problem is resolved I will delete the local site. Let me know if this is ok with you.
IMPORTANT
- Please make a backup of site files and database before providing us access.
- If you do not see the wp-admin/FTP fields this means your post & website login details will be made PUBLIC. DO NOT post your website details unless you see the required wp-admin/FTP fields. If you do not, please ask me to enable the private box. The private box looks like this:
On the Turkish pages, the "Home" text in the breadcrumbs appears as "Ev." It should be "Ana Sayfa." Additionally, the URL is also incorrect. We couldn't figure out why this is happening.
I'm Osama from WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
1) For the contact page, I checked it and noticed that the translation needs to be updated. Please edit the hidden link">contact page in the default language and update the translations.
2) For the home string in the breadcrumbs, I corrected its translation in WPML-> String Translation, which fixed the issue. (Kindly check the attached screenshot)
Best regards,
Osama
