Problem:
You are trying to translate a page, but the translated page does not maintain the original page template. Instead, it resets to the default template, and you see the index page instead of the expected translated page.
Solution:
First, ensure that the issue is not related to the Front Page settings, as confirmed in your case. Next, you should manually set the

_wp_page_template

custom field to the desired template file name for the translated page. This approach helps in overriding the default template that appears due to a possible glitch or misconfiguration.

If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a page, but the translated page doesn't keep the page template of the original. When I attempt to change the template, it always resets to the default template.
