This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client received an email indicating they had been assigned 285 new translation jobs, causing confusion about the purpose and implications of this notification. Solution: We explained that the email is an automatic WPML summary notification. The 'Your deadline' column in the email is not an enforced deadline and does not affect the client's site or translations. It is a generic label used in WPML’s email templates when translation jobs are logged. This notification was likely a one-off, possibly triggered by a background sync or update, and no further action is required by the client since no similar emails have been received since the initial one.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems irrelevant due to being outdated or not applicable to your case, we highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Hi,
To better understand what happened, could you please check the following for me:
1. Click on any one of the links listed in the email (“Link to original document … → start translating”).
2. Check the translation status of that page (for example: already translated, in progress, or waiting for translation).
After that, could you please let me know:
* Whether those pages are already translated, and
* Whether you think the email was received after the translations were completed or before.
This information will help us determine whether the email was triggered automatically by a past assignment or update, or if it is still actively being generated by the system.
1. Many pages are intentionally not translated, so I can not start translating a page I do not know which. I will not jeopardize the production, so I am not to do this.
2. detto
3. I do not assign any jobs, I am the only user and the only translator
4. This is the first and only time I received such an email.
5. Why do you use the address <wordpress@mid-century-design.com> - it is my domain and there is no such mailbox/alias as wordpress - ?
regards

Hi,
Thanks for clarifying and for explaining the constraints regarding PROD access. That’s completely understood.
Based on the information so far, this appears to have been a one-time, automatically triggered WPML notification, possibly related to an update or a background synchronization process.
To confirm this, could you please let me know whether you have received any similar “You’ve been assigned translation jobs” emails either before January 10 or at any time since, or if this was the only occurrence?
If it was a single, non-recurring email, then I believe no further action is needed as I see no way to even reproduce it.
This week Mid-Century Design in Mid Europe had the following 3 translation updates:
Original Page Translation Translator Date Your deadline
FooterMy1 FooterMy1 (hu) () 10.01.2026 12.01.2026
FooterMy1 FooterMy1 (cs) () 10.01.2026 12.01.2026
FooterMy1 FooterMy1 (de) () 10.01.2026 12.01.2026
Want to improve the quality of your site’s translation?
What is "Your deadline"?
Mischievous and disturbing.
I know what I have translated!

That email is an automatic WPML summary notification.
The “Your deadline” column is not an enforced deadline and does not affect your site or translations in any way. It is simply a generic label used in WPML’s email templates when translation jobs are logged, even if you are the only user and translator.
Since:
* the translations were intentionally done by you,
* no jobs were manually assigned,
* and no further similar emails have been received since,
this strongly suggests this was a one-off notification, possibly caused by a background sync or update around January 10.
If no emails were sent after that, it may indicate a temporary glitch in that notification process, which is unfortunately very hard to reproduce.
Nothing is pending, nothing is being reassigned, and no action is required on your side.
