Greeting,

we made a clone of our main page from the dcbeauty.hr domain because we plan to market ourselves on the Kosovo market.

1. We have a problem translating the front pages. We want to make manual translations for all of our languages Croatian, English and Albanian, because the content of the front pages differs between languages.

We have followed your instructions regarding creating and linking manually translated pages (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/). However, the problem is that regardless of the fact that we have followed all the steps, when we make changes to the text in the Albanian language, then the change also occurs in our default language, which is Croatian.

We use Elementor Pro to build our pages.

2. Also, we want to duplicate our products from English to the Albanian language, but it duplicates our products from the Croatian language.

Please help us solve these 2 problems.

thanks for conacting.

1) Can you please check and make sure you have changed the editor to WordPress editor as shown in our docs and the duplicated page is not showing as duplicate anymore?

2) I am afraid that is expected and you can only duplicate and translate from your page's default language to others, not from 2nd langauge to 3rd and etc.

Hello Drazen,

1) Yes, it was transferred from WPML to the Worpress editor and we can confirm that next to the Albanian language there is no word (duplicated) in brackets.

2) Would it solve the problem if we switched from Croatian (default) to English in the settings and then tried to duplicate the English version of the product in the Albanian language?

If necessary, we can share with you the log in data on the site to speed up the process of detecting and eliminating problems.

1) Can you please share a video of the steps and issue happening so I can confirm and understand the issue better?

2) I am afraid that would not help, changing the WPML default language of your website does not change the default language in which the page was created. The page would still stay default in the original default language they where created.

You can use some external duplicate plugins and manually duplicate English pages, then manually change the language of these pages from the sidebar to some other you might need.

Please also note we limit 1 issue per ticket to keep things clear, if you still have further doubts I would advise opening a new ticket or I can do it for you.

thanks for getting back and sharing a video.

I would need to check further in order to see what is happening, before can you please try a few things to speed things up:

1) Check if the issue still happens in the new dummy newly created page.

2) Check if the issue happens when all other plugins are disabled, only WPML plugins and Elementor are active.

3) If issues still happen, Please share admin access and FTP to a staging site where the issue happens so I can check it out further.

First I see you are using most of the theme and plugins not updated, I have updated WPML plugins and Elementor.

After then I tried to check the issue, but seems tow work fine.

Strange, we are still experiencing the same issue as before. Can you please check again, and if you are not experiencing any issue, can you please record a longer video with the full process of editing the page starting from the WordPress dashboard.

Maybe we are doing something wrong in the process so we want to eliminate that possibility.

I am trying to edit the page again and record a video for you, but seems something changed on your website. I can see differences on the front page, and I can not edit with Elementor, also while WPML is disabled.

Please check further, and let me know once it is solved so I can re-check.

Hi Dražen,

We have restored the backup on the version from 11-09-2023, we checked and it can edited now.

Probably it was Elementor version 3.16. that caused the problem for you.

You can try again and see if it works properly.

I would either way suggest updating your plugins and themes to the latest version and making sure it work fine, since from the WPML side also, there is no point of checking specific issue with outdated versions of plugins, while it might be fixed with the latest.
