This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is experiencing recurring 404 errors on their website at different times on various pages and languages, even after trying various settings and configurations. Solution: 1. We recommended resaving the permalinks and testing the website in a minimal environment. This involves switching to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty-Four and deactivating all plugins except WPML and its add-ons to check if the issue persists. 2. If the problem continues, the client should deactivate all plugins except WPML, then reactivate them one by one to identify the problematic plugin. 3. We suggested checking with the hosting provider as the issue might be related to server configurations rather than the WPML plugin itself. 4. We also recommended checking the WPML known issues for potential solutions.
If this solution does not resolve your issue or seems outdated, please check the related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verify the version of the permanent fix, and confirm that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, we highly recommend opening a new support ticket at WPML support forum.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.

Have you tried resaving the permalinks? Also, I suspect a collision with the theme or another plugin might cause this problem. If possible, get your site into a minimum environment, switching to a default WordPress theme like TwentyTwenty-Four and having no plugins activated except WPML.
First, you must check if the problem persists when just the theme is switched to TwentyTwenty-Four (for example). If it persists, deactivate all plugins except WPML and its add-ons. Then, please check if the problem persists. If it does not continue, start by activating the plugins individually and checking when the issue comes back, then report to me which plugin was the culprit.
**** Important! Please make a full site backup (files and DB) before you proceed with those steps****
*** If your site is live, you might want to try those procedures in a staging environment or a snapshot of your site on your local server or another server. ***
Hello
We made resaving the permalinks.
We have the Pixwell theme which is compatible with WMPL ( hidden link)
The site worked well and is now used for ads.
On 19 December we seated the ES version and have 404 errors sometimes.
We tried disabling other plugins but nothing changed.
In the log file, we see the next ( see attached screen )
Thanks
I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.
Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.
Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.
✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.
I've checked and it looks like the issue is unrelated to WPML as shown in this screen recording hidden link . There is an error when saving the page even with the WPML plugin deactivated. It looks like there are some issues with the server and you should check with your hosting provider for further assistance.
Hello
We did a site test and saw 404.
After we decided to disable WPML and check.
Now the site is working correctly. We do not see a 404 error.
Please, see our tests in the video hidden link hidden link
Thanks
Sometimes it works but sometimes it doesn't as shown in this screen recording hidden link . You need to check with your hosting provider to see if they have any clues about what's happening.
Hello
I saw 404 from LiteSpeed server.
I changed the web server configuration.
Now I see 404 error from WordPress It is correct.
I will test 1-2 days and write you later.
Thanks
Hello
I tested for two days and the site is working correctly.
If I use the incorrect URL( hidden link ) I see 404 error response from WP.
When I enabled WPML plugin I saw sometime 404 errors from LiteSpeed Server.
Thanks
Thanks for your reply. It's the default behavior to show the 404-page hidden link for invalid URLs. You can use a 3rd party plugin to redirect broken links but this cannot be done using the WPML plugin.
Do you mean WPML is still causing the site pages to show 404 errors? Have you checked with your hosting provider to see if they have any clues about what's happening?
Hello
WP theme has a 404 page it is correct if WP does not understand URL.
I opened a ticket in Litespeed Server support.
We are going to move site to the dev server for test.
I will write you late
Thanks.
