Background of the issue:
I am trying to have an update to an English Bricks template be automatically reflected in the Dutch Bricks template. This should be the case, but WPML is not updating the Dutch Bricks template.
Symptoms:
The Dutch template stayed the old version, while an update was made to the English template in Bricks.
Questions:
Why is the Dutch Bricks template not updating automatically when the English Bricks template is updated?
Is there a specific setting in WPML that needs to be configured to ensure automatic updates for duplicated templates?
I managed to replicate the issue in the Sandbox site.
Currently 'WPML Media Translation' is deactivated. You can see everything works as it should by following these exact steps:
- Go to: hidden link (this will open the English template, that is being shown on the entire website)
- Edit the Bricks Heading into something else
- Hit 'Save'
- Go to: hidden link
- You will see the change reflected on the English front-end
- Now click on 'Nederlands' or go to hidden link
- You will se the change is also reflected on the front-end of the Dutch version of the website.
To see the issue 'WPML Media Translation' creates by not syncing the English version to the Dutch version, perform these steps:
- Go to: hidden link
- Activate 'WPML Media Translation'
- Go to: hidden link
- Edit the Bricks Heading into something else
- Hit 'Save'
- Go to: hidden link
- You will see the change reflected on the English front-end
- Now click on 'Nederlands' or go to hidden link
- You will see that the change is not being reflected on the Dutch version of the website.
To make it work again, perform these steps:
- Go to: hidden link
- Disable 'WPML Media Translation'
- Go to: hidden link (this will open the English template, that is being shown on the entire website)
- Edit the Bricks Heading into something else
- Hit 'Save'
- Go to: hidden link
- You will see the change reflected on the English front-end
- Now click on 'Nederlands' or go to hidden link
- You will se the change is also reflected on the front-end of the Dutch version of the website.
VERY IMPORTANT: When you're trying this multiple times, always reload the Bricks Builder page before making a change to the page. Otherwise you cannot see the issue clearly. So if you changed the heading and want to change it again, please reload Bricks Builder.
