This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client is experiencing issues where translations made using the Advanced Translation Editor are not appearing on the frontend of their website. The original English content is displayed instead of the translated Dutch content.

Solution:
1. Ensure that the 'Advanced Translation Editor' is enabled in WPML > Settings.
2. Edit the primary language page, including any titles or main content.
3. Resave the page to ensure all changes are updated and reflected on the frontend.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, it may be necessary to check the setup or redo the translations for existing pages where the issue persists. Additionally, if the problem continues or the solution provided here becomes outdated, we recommend visiting related known issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please open a new support ticket.

Background of the issue:
I am trying to translate a new website using the advanced translation editor, but the translations are not appearing as expected. The issue can be seen on this page: hidden link

Symptoms:
The frontend of the website continues to display the original English content instead of the translated Dutch content.

Questions:
Why are the translations not showing up on the frontend?
How can I ensure the translated content is displayed correctly?

Thanks for contacting us. Please check the page contents and make sure any custom Elementor widgets are registered as explained here https://wpml.org/documentation/support/multilingual-tools/registering-custom-elementor-widgets-for-translation/ .

If the issue continues, I will need to closely examine your website. Therefore, I will require temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP) to a test site where the problem has been replicated, if possible. This will enable me to provide better assistance and determine if any configurations need to be modified.

Please note that it is important to have a backup for security purposes and to prevent any potential data loss. You can use the UpdraftPlus plugin (https://wordpress.org/plugins/updraftplus/) to fulfill your backup requirements.

Your upcoming reply will be treated with confidentiality and will only be visible to you and me.

✙ To resolve the issue, I may need your consent to deactivate and reactivate plugins and the theme, as well as make configuration changes on the site if necessary. This emphasizes the significance of having a backup.

Thanks for your reply.

I've checked and all the contents are there as shown in the attached screenshot. This is what I've done.

1. I've enabled "Advanced Translation Editor" in WPML > Settings.

2. I've edited the primary language page and the title.

3. Resave the page and the contents show up

Hi Kor,

I don't understand what you did. You made a new page and apparently that does work.

But what about the existing translations? Do I need to redo those to make it work? Was there something wrong with the setup or how this was done before? What can it be? Because I now edited the About translation, gave the page a new title, and that does work. But once I revert to the original title, the translation disappears also.

I don't get your second step, what did you edit in the primary language page? How? This step confuses me.

How can I make the translation of the About page, which is clearly there in the editor, show up on the front? See the attached image..

What is wrong with the About page, or the primary language? And how do I solve this for the other existing pages?

Thanks again!

Bas

Wow, I do exactly the same with Story-roadmap now, without result...

Why, why, why! Stuff like this is driving me crazy. I do exactly the same as you do. And Story-Roadmap is NOT translating, except for the meta title, which does show up translated (I think it already was)...
