[Resolved] After activating string translations plugin the site is extremely slow

This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.

Hi!

After activating WPML string translations plugin the site is extremely slow. I have no ideas what to do and how to fix it. Right now I can use website only when plugin is deactivated.

Hi! Thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately I deleted all the strings belonging to “default” textdomain but website is still the same. I dont want to downgrade the wordpress what is the second option.

Hello!
My colleague here missed to mention that you can try the latest beta version of WPML and WPML String Translation which fix the performance issues without the need of deleting any strings.
Also, the problem could happen if your default language is not English so I'd suggest to give a try of the beta version - WPML 4.6.6b1 and WPML String Translation 3.2.8-b.2 - available from this site in Account > Downloads > Beta (dropdown on right of the screen)
