I don't know why, there were suddenly many duplicate pages on my WordPress. I checked and found that most of them were automatically generated pages related to Shop, My Account, and WooCommerce. Why did so many pages suddenly appear? This happened after I closed the wpml plugin and then reopened it. Could you please help me check if there is something wrong with the wpml plugin?

Thank you for contacting WPML support. While you are waiting for one of my colleagues to take this ticket and work on it, let me get some additional information that may help us better troubleshoot. Do you have WooCommerce Multilingual Installed with WPML? This plugin has an option to create WooCommerce pages in secondary languages. If you ran the set up for that, this could be why those account/shop/cart pages were created in your second languages.

If that's not the issue, check to see if you have automatic translation for everything activated in WPML -> Settings. If so, it could be that once you enabled WPML these pages were automatically translated and created in your second languages.

Lastly, if you had different languages activated before you deactivated WPML, then these duplicate pages could be pages that had been created in a language that is no longer active.

Please check these options and let us know if one of these scenarious could be the issue.

Answer 1: Yes, I have installed the WooCommerce multilingual version of WPML
Answer 2: I haven't set up the Woocommerce multilingual plugin yet
Answer 3: Yes, I activated automatic translation for all content in WPML ->Settings. As shown in the attached image.
Answer 4: I don't quite understand what this sentence means, "If you had different languages activated before you deactivated WPML, then these duplicate pages could be pages that had been created in a language that is no longer active

Please log in to my account and help me resolve these issues. My website has many duplicate pages, such as shop, my account, checkout and cart. Each page has five or six duplicate pages, all of which are identical. Please help me solve this problem, thank you!

Hello,

I know this is not the best solution, but the best we can suggest is to:

- setup WCML completely

- then manually delete duplicated pages by going to Pages > All> All languages

- If the issue still happens, please share steps on how it happens and we would be glad and debugg to help further. If not then it might be one time thing, but I would advise keeping eye if it comes back

- I would also be glad to help and delete the pages for you, but I do not speak your language, so I would not be helpful with recognizing which page is which

I can manually delete these duplicate pages, but I am very confused. I have a total of 14 languages in my language settings. I counted these duplicate pages, such as cart, which has a total of 18 duplicate pages. How many duplicate pages should I keep? Fourteen? Or one?

Hello,

you should have only 1 page in your default language and then a page in each language, which is also connected to your default language page. This means it should have a pencil icon, not a plus.

You should not have 14 or 18 same pages in your default language.

When it comes to WooCommerce pages, it may be best to delete them and re-translate them from WPML > Translation Management.

Now, I have deleted all duplicate pages according to your instructions. I only left some default pages, shopping cart, my account, checkout, and similar types. Only one default page was left. May I ask if I am doing the right thing?

Hello,

yes, that is correct.

You should have only 1 instance of default WC pages in your default language.
