Background of the issue:
I am currently using WPML in conjunction with LearnPress to manage the translation of courses on my website hidden link. I translate the course using WPML and then translate the associated lessons.
Symptoms:
After translation, the lessons are not automatically assigned to the translated course, requiring manual reassignment.
Questions:
How can I ensure that the lesson-to-course associations are automatically maintained when translating into different languages?
Is there a specific configuration or process that I should be following to avoid this issue?
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
First of all, sorry for the late reply; it was due to a higher workload.
1) Please log in to this hidden link">sandbox site and install the LearnPress plugin. After that, please create a test course and translate it to replicate the issue.
If the issue is replicable, please let me know how to reproduce it to consult our compatibility team.
2) Could you please share your Debug information with me?
You can read a detailed explanation about it here. (http://wpml.org/faq/provide-debug-information-faster-support)
The debug info will give me much information about how your site is configured.
I've installed LearnPress on my demo account, but I'm having trouble with automatic translation. I attempted manual translation as well, but I’m still encountering issues. Here’s the process I followed:
I create a course in English and add lessons in English. However, these lessons are not automatically assigned to the course.
I then translate the English course into Italian. When I view the Italian course, the lessons are not there.
I go back to the English course, translate the lessons one by one into Italian, but they still do not automatically appear in the Italian course.
I need to manually go to the Italian course, select each translated lesson, and assign them individually.
I expected that translating the English course into Italian would also automatically translate and assign the lessons to the Italian version of the course. However, I find myself having to use translation management to translate the course and lessons into Italian, and then manually assign each translated lesson to the Italian course.
Could you please advise on how to streamline this process or correct any issues?
But I can trasnlate all content now with no issues, its just i am checking if there is a single press and trasnlate functionality, so you are telling me if I buy the above we just hit translate and will make all in one go ?
According to the LearnPress guide, if you have the mentioned plugin, you will need to translate the courses and lessons, but they will be assigned automatically.
Thank you for your support. I’m not really convinced by their documentation; it doesn’t seem very different from what I already do. I will speak with them.
On another note, I tried different use roles. How can I allow a user to fix translations without giving them admin access? This is for LearnPress again to edit lesson translations.
Please check this guide to know more about adding translators.
Best regards,
Osama
