This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.

Problem:
The client was trying to automatically translate only the visible text on their website, but found that the WPML plugin was also translating invisible text from the ACF plugin, consuming a large amount of translation credits unexpectedly.

Solution:
We explained that the translation of labels from ACF is expected as they are considered content, which includes the structure of the page such as labels and metadata for images. To avoid translating these labels, we provided a guide: Translating ACF Field Labels with WPML.

Additionally, as a one-time exception, we assisted the client with the credits issue by making the necessary adjustments in the "tools" tab under WPML > Translation Management.

If this solution does not apply to your case, or if it seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also highly recommend checking related known issues at WPML Known Issues, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If further assistance is needed, please contact us in the WPML support forum.

I am trying to:
Translate automatically the VISIBLE text on my site and later the articles that will be uploaded to our blog.

Link to a page where the issue can be seen:
hidden link

I expected to see:
Any VISIBLE text on my site been translated to each one of the 20 targeted languages.
There is not much visible text on the current pages as we didn't upload yet the articles (few words per page, ~24 pages).
I had ~59k credit points and somehow it consumed all of them credits without translating even half of the pages (even if it charge 2 points per 1 work it means 30k words been translated which make no sense at all).
I switched to Pay-As-You-Go in order to complete the translation and I see that it consumed another 141k credits (on top of the previous ~59k credits) and I tried again to understand what is the problem with the plugin.

I found that it translating invisble text from some other pluging that been installed by the developed - the plugin called ACF plugin (see attached picture).

I never asked to translate this automatic text that not visible to the visitors.
Please 1) cancel it all, 2) refund my credits, and 3) help me to translate only VISIBLE text.

Hi there!

I'll help you get started while a supporter takes your case.

I think you're referring to the LABELS coming from ACF, maybe? if that's the case, it's expected since they are still content to translate (Remember that a page translation consists in the translation of the content + the structure and there are things like labels, metadata for images, etc. that are content that in most cases you also want to translate).

You can follow this guide if you don't want to translate the labels: https://wpml.org/documentation/related-projects/translate-sites-built-with-acf/translating-acf-field-labels-with-wpml/#excluding-field-labels-from-the-advanced-translation-editor

and as a one-time exception, i can help you with the credits (you can check the "tools" tab in WPML > Translation Management. I already made the changes) 🙂

Regards.
