[Resolved] Can't translate properly since WPML change in applying markers
This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: You are experiencing issues with translating content using the WPML translation editor, specifically with applying markers and links. Each line translation requires exiting and re-entering the editor, and sometimes clicking on a marker does nothing. Solution: We have released a hotfix and an update for our Advanced Translation Editor. We recommend you try translating your content again to see if the issue is resolved. If you're still facing difficulties, it might be due to the solution being outdated or not applicable to your specific case. We highly recommend checking related known issues at https://wpml.org/known-issues/, verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. If the problem persists, please open a new support ticket at WPML support forum for further assistance.
This is the technical support forum for WPML - the multilingual WordPress plugin.
Everyone can read, but only WPML clients can post here. WPML team is replying on the forum 6 days per week, 22 hours per day.
I've tested it again on hidden link and it works fine for me. Not sure what's preventing you from using the Advanced Translation Editor properly. I will escalate this now to our 2nd Tier Support for further assistance. I will come back to you once I've feedback.
Our Tier Support has asked you to test the issue using a private browsing window and check for any errors in the console. From our end, everything appears to be working fine, as shown in the screen recording hidden link . Additionally, please ensure that you’re using the latest version of Chrome.
correct, it looks like the attached screenshot. let me know if you see any errors. As shown in my screenshot, there are no errors when I edit/save the translation.
Here is the video as I try to translate in incognito Window: hidden link
You will see the WPML-related error in the console around 1:52
Note that it did work in the last page we worked on, both in a regular window and in an incognito window, but when I tried in another page I had not yet translated, the error returned.
Thanks for your reply. Could you please check and see if you're using the latest version of the Chrome browser? Also, please tell me the version number so that we could make sure that we're using the same version. Also, please disable all Chrome Extensions for this test.
Hi. I had a few days off. Just replying so the topic is not closed due to having no activity, but I will do the test again tomorrow with the extensions disabled and give you the browser version.
So the Chrome version is Version 134.0.6998.36 (Official Build) (64-bit)
I deactivated all extensions, and I tried again in an Incognito window with a new test page and the Console open.

Just a reminder, that it works fine in Firefox. For me, the issue seems to be in Chrome only.
