Background of the issue:
I am using the 'Motors' WordPress theme and attempting to translate my website at hidden link using WPML. I have tried various methods to translate the site, including Taxonomies translations, String translations, Admin text translation, and Auto register strings.

Symptoms:
Despite my efforts, I am unable to translate listing category names on the inventory page and in the search filters. Theme support was unable to resolve the issue and suggested that I might need to synchronize the .pot file.

Questions:
Can you help me with translating texts that are still not translated on the inventory page and in the search filters?
Are there any other methods that I can use to translate the text that I might not have tried yet?

Hi there,

I reported the issue to the second tier support and I will update you here as soon as I have news.

Just to make sure we are on the same page, it will take time.

Also, I'd appreciate it if you could keep the login info intact so we can enter the dashboard.

Thanks.

Hi there,

I have an answer from the second tier support.

Please follow the steps below only if you have a complete backup of the website or test it by copying the website and test it there:

The minimum requirement is 128M but I suggest that you increase it to 512M: https://wpml.org/home/minimum-requirements/

You can add this by adding the code below to "wp-config.php" file of your WordPress installation root folder:

/** Memory Limit */
define('WP_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M');
define( 'WP_MAX_MEMORY_LIMIT', '512M' );

Please add the code above the line below:

/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */

After that please do as follows:

- Make sure you test it on a copy of the website or at least have a complete backup.
- Go to WordPress Dashboard > WPML > Support > Troubleshooting (link)
- Select the post type that the taxonomy is from and click the annotated button attached to this answer.

If the issue persists, this might be a compatibility issue with Motor Theme. To be able to report this to the compatibility team we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation from scratch to remove any possibility of interfering plugins or settings.

I created a WordPress installation that you can access and install the Motor Theme and add the taxonomy and try to translate it:

Thanks.

Hi Christopher,

Sorry for the late reply, I've missed your message.

So, I tried your solution for my website and it doesn't work for me, I still have the same issue. I've created the new test listing, but the result is the same, I can't translate it.

Also, I've installed the theme to the test environment, tried to do the same, and the translation works fine there. Do you have any ideas why that can happen? Everything is the same: the version of WPML, the version of the theme, the listing specification...

Hi there,

The second tier support set the custom fields as COPY and now the taxonomies are translatable and you can see a translation that works ok here:

But the filter in "hidden link" still shows the labels in English.

I wonder if there is another alternative way to show the filters instead of "STM classic filter to" WP bakery widget?

Does Motor theme have other ways to show the filter?

Hi Christopher,

For me, taxonomies translations also worked on the specific listing page. But they didn't work on the all listing page - in filters and on the listing card. And unfortunately, it's not possible to show the filter differently with the Motor theme.

Hi there,

Then this seems to be a compatibility issue with the Motor theme.

To be able to report the compatibility issues we need to replicate the issue on a clean installation.

I created a clean installation of WordPress, WPML, and all necessary WPML add-ons.
You can access the WordPress dashboard using the link below:

hidden link

Kindly follow the steps below:

- Install Motor theme.
- Install the necessary plugins for Motor theme.
- Try to replicate the issue.

This will help us to report the probable issue to the compatibility team and solve the possible problem faster.

Please do not import your website content, the whole reason for this installation is to replicate the issue from scratch.

Thanks
