We recommend the following steps to move your translations:
1. Navigate to WPML → Translation Management.
2. Use the filters to display content in French Canadian (fr-ca).
3. Select all the pages or posts you want to move.
4. Click "Duplicate" and choose French (fr) as the target language.
5. After duplication, go to each page, switch to French (fr), and click "Translate Independently" to unlink it from the original.
6. Once confirmed, delete the fr-ca versions of the content.

What we are wondering is if it is possible to move translated material from one language "folder" (in this case, "fr-ca") to a different "folder" (to the "fr" folder). We have material translated in French Canadian, that we want to simply appear on our site as French.
Can we consolidate these files? Is it possible to change how they are coded?

Thank you!

Matt

Thank you for your feedback, Matt.

Since WPML does not allow direct changes to the language code, the best way to consolidate your translations is to duplicate the French Canadian (fr-ca) content into French (fr) and then remove the original fr-ca versions.

Here are the steps to move your translations:

1. Go to WPML → Translation Management.
