I am trying to translate posts from our website using a CAT tool. The CAT tool has a filter specificaly designed for WPML wordpress files, but the xliff files won't work as there is an issue with the language codes. (see images)

Let's say I want to translate from English to French, the language in the xliff uploaded with WPML will be "en" and "fr", while correct language codes would be "en-US" or "en-CA" and "fr-FR" or "fr-CA", etc. The files are impossible to pass through CAT tool without the proper language codes and I don't want to have to open all of them every time I translate something to change the code prior to translation, then change it back before injecting back in the website.

I am looking for a way to have this language code properly generated when exporting the xliff files with WPML. Are there any options for this?

Hello,

I am afraid there is no way out of the box for this, as XLIFF will always have language code defined in WPML.

The best I can suggest is checking with CAT tool support if is there an option to map specific language code to match their in the software.

let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.
