I have further feedback from our 2nd Tier Support. They mentioned that since you're dealing with complex products, they recommend you to enable this "Prompt for a confirmation and reset the cart" option in WCML > Settings > Cart > "Prompt for a confirmation and reset the cart".

Then, whenever you change the language, you'll have to add the product to the cart again for that particular language.
