This thread is resolved. Here is a description of the problem and solution.
Problem: The client is using WPML with Bricks Builder to translate their website. After translation, the layout appeared disrupted, and the font displayed differently, appearing bolder than in the original language. Solution: We confirmed that Bricks Builder is compatible with WPML, but specific steps must be followed. We recommended checking the Bricks Builder documentation on using WPML (https://academy.bricksbuilder.io/article/how-to-use-wpml-with-bricks/). Additionally, we suggested using the manual translation method where pages are duplicated from the default language into another language, and content is manually adjusted using Bricks (https://wpml.org/documentation/translating-your-contents/using-different-translation-editors-for-different-pages/). This approach might help maintain the original design in the translated version.
If this solution does not resolve the issue or seems outdated, we recommend opening a new support ticket. We also advise checking related known issues (https://wpml.org/known-issues/), verifying the version of the permanent fix, and confirming that you have installed the latest versions of themes and plugins. Background of the issue:
I am using WPML to translate my website built with Bricks Builder. The site I need help with is hidden link and translated hidden link (temp address)
Symptoms:
After translating the websites, my layout got screwed.
Questions:
Is it supposed to happen?
Is it not compatible with builders?
Is translation supposed to affect structure/HTML tags and everything?
It helped a lot. It turns out, I need to open translation from editing post/page/template, not directly from the list... or this is just a coincidence and it needed a time to adjust itself to the layout - I'm not sure :/
I still got a small issue here, though.
Now that translation is displayed properly within the layout - the font seems to be a little off... Like more bold... But you can see on screenshots that the font weight is the same - and yet the difference is visible to the naked eye.
Normally I would style it again/differently but... the styling is correct but translation is displayed differently. And it's not only this part that you can see on the screenshots - every part of a site seems to have higher font-weight.
Most likely I'm missing something obvious but... maybe you would be able to help me?
This is a very strange case and I have never seen something like this before.
All the styling properties I looked at seem to be the same between the two languages we are comparing.
To further debug the problem I’d like to replicate your site locally.
I will need your written approval to duplicate your site using a plugin called "Duplicator" and test your site on a testing environment so can you please let me know if this is ok with you?
The duplicated site will be deleted after we find a solution for this.
Also, please create a full website backup before answering.
1. Thank you for the approval. No worries, I will try to run an export without any media files or files in big size. Just the bare minimum so be able to replicate this issue locally and further investigate it.
2. No, I don't think the timezone is adjusted to your location.
We are using the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) standard.
I'm leaving the ticket assigned to myself for now.
It is a bit of a tricky type of issue as I'm not sure from where is this differency in styling coming from.
I can't guarantee that it will be fixed this week but if I won't be able to figure out what's going on soon, I will further escalate this to our dev team.
Ok, don't bother with this. Probably there's something weird going on about the settings. Because I had additional problems with WPML and the Bricks builder I had to resign from '1 language - 1 domain' configuration. Now it seems that everything appears as it should.
