We have a few pages on our website that we republished with new content for 2024. Their page ID seems to have changed but their URL is still the same. Then we clicked the icons on these pages to update the translations (translate automatically) and they are completed ok.
However the translations are not showing up (should show in the footer of the page with flags).
Also the top menu withing translations for example /es/ or /fr/ is linking to the old 2023 translations still. How can we fix them to link to the correct translations.
I tried scanning and updating translation links in settings but no luck. Also cache is already disabled.
Thanks for contacting WPML forums support. I'll be glad to help you today.
Please make sure that the translated pages/posts are published, not drafts. Also, please check if these pages/posts are waiting for translation review.
Hi Osama,
There is none in waiting for translation review area.
I do see English translations are all published ok, but when I go to Pages > Filter by Spanish or any language for example, I see the specific page in question is there twice, once as Published (the 2023 out of date version) and once as Draft (the 2024 one we want).
So it seems to be an issue with the Yoast Duplicator Plugin for "Rewrite and Republish" feature - it is correctly replacing only the English version on Republish as expected as Published, but not the WPML linked new translated version at the same time.
How can we resolve that or enforce that part to update correctly?
Thanks I can do that, except for the replacement draft homepage language pages, which seem to be set as normal pages. How can I set them to be homepages?
Hi Osama,
The homepage is correctly set to the English one in Reading/Settings, but seems to be displaying only the Spanish homepage for all languages, whether editing or live.
Please advise, thanks!
I would need to look closely at your site, so I would need to request temporary access (WP-Admin and FTP)
– preferably to a test site where the problem has been replicated if possible –
in order to be of better help and check if some configurations might need to be changed.
Your next answer will be private, which means only you and I can access it.
❌ Please backup your database and website ❌
✙ I would need your permission to de-activate and re-activate the Plugins and the Theme and change configurations on the site. This is also a reason the backup is critical.
✙ I also need your permission to take a local copy of your site to debug the issue without affecting your live site.
Best regards.
